Hello everyone,
I'm here because I've recently had some proverbial floodgates opened, and after a lot of research, I'm coming to the conclusion that I'm very likely a trans man. Partly, I'm going "so many things make sense now!", but I'm also very stressed and worried about this new realisation, as it has possibly cataclysmic consequences for the relationship I'm in (engaged to a straight cis man). I was directed here by a friend, to talk with others who can understand, and get a better idea of what I can do to be happier in myself, and how to deal with the challenges ahead.
I'm not sure how to sign off this introduction right now, as I don't feel comfortable using my given name due to it's gender, but I don't have a name for who I feel I really am yet.
Edit: The last matter has changed.
Aethan

Hi DTS, it's nice to meet you! Glad your friend sent you here, are they a member here, by any chance? I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do, hugs, Devlyn

Thank you all for the warm welcome! It's very heartening :)
I'll certainly read through the links thoroughly. I really want to be a good, upstanding brother in this family!
My friend that sent me here might be on here, but I don't know if she is a member herself (she's a lovely transwoman I am friends with through RPG.net), I never thought to ask when she sent the link.
I look forward very much to getting to know you all better :)

DeeperThanSwords, welcome! I'm in SoCal
I am sure you will find people here who have had similar, lightning-strike-to-the-brain experiences, when that realization of, "Yeah, that's me," clicked.

Aethan, I am hoping you find the answers & guidance you are seeking. I don't know if you have already shared your feelings with your fiance, but if you haven't it may help to open up to him and have his support thru this journey. Wishing you well & lots of luck.

Thanks. I have come out to him, and he's expressed a degree of supportiveness, but has also withdrawn from me a lot.

:( I'm very sorry to hear that he has withdrawn a little bit, as I know that is the last thing you need right now. When you tell the one you love something as important as that I know all you want is to be hugged and probably just to stand by your side no matter what. Maybe he just needs a little time to get used to the idea. I'm sure that he loves you regardless, so just try to have faith in him. Just make sure you do what feels right for you!

Thanks :). He's encouraging me to educate him on it (he's not very familiar with trans* stuff), so at least he is trying to be supportive. He's never been attracted to a man, I'm hoping that maybe I'll get lucky and be the exception, lol.
I'm glad to have found lots of encouragement and support here though. Being myself seems less scary now.
