Title: New Clothes! :D
Post by: Joe. on December 03, 2012, 05:57:30 PM
Hey everyone, I'm really happy at the moment and really needed to let it out somewhere and I thought this could be the place. I bought some guys jeans today that actually fit and I love them. I also only mostly buy guys clothes now and nobody seems to care or say anything. I'm only out to 2 friends who are fine with it but buying the jeans today was a huge step for me and although I don't bind, I feel I'm looking more and more like the person I want to be. I have the confidence to get my hair cut kind of a boys style and I'm comfortable looking in the guys section when shopping.Sorry for the long pointless post, I just feel incredibly happy right now and want to enjoy it whilst I can.
Joey :)

Congrats! That is a great step.

BTW, that was not a pointless post. It is nice to share the things that make you happy.

Awesome, not pointless. Everything I have done that makes me present, feel, etc. more male has felt right. There's a rightness to it that would be hard to explain.

Awesome man!

You have to have a photo bucket or other such acct. You put your pictures on that, and then you can cut and paste the link. It works pretty well.

I think it's an awesome post.  Tackling your fear and boldly being yourself is really the best thing you can do.  The details can all be worked out in due time.

To Deeper: Ah hah!  A secret Brony.  I knew it!

Joey, a couple easy things to think about would be using a wallet (instead of purse however androgynous) and the underwear. I like the boxer briefs. YMMV.
If with every little change you feel better, I think you're on the right track.

Congrats! 8) It's amazing how changing some small things you've always wanted can make you feel, haha. While I've always worn men's/boy's clothes so there wasn't really that kind of a change for me in that department, I do remember the first time I ever bought boxer briefs and a binder. I remember cause at first I was so nervous like it was some kind of covert operation lol...but the outcome? Priceless! ;D After I bought them I remember just wanting to go outside and walk around randomly for no reason like I wanted to share it with everyone and no one in particular lol

Beserk, I believe that by definition underwear is covert. But I know what you mean. I didn't find it so funny buying it, but I would guess some might. Funny thing the wallet was really a big deal for me. My support group has been so cool every time I have shown anything (just band of underwear).

Cheers for your replies guys. Funnily enough I had a wallet when I was about 11 to 13, got a purse to keep my mum happy then now I've had a wallet for the past few months and I love it. I'm not confident enough to wear guys underwear at the moment but I wear girls boxers and its the next best thing. I was debating whether or not to tell my teacher today about everything that's on my mind but then I chickened out :/

Joey bud, you must be a really young guy! I'm guessing as you talk about being 11-13 and saying that you were thinking of telling "your teacher" (only one?) Does your mom know about all this?

OTOH, you are talking about shopping by yourself.

Anyway whatever it may be, you are doing a good job. If you can shop in the guy's section, I will tell you picking up a pair of boxer briefs isn't too hard. I think it helps if you know what you want ahead of time. It took me a little bit to realize where they put things.
Nobody has ever looked at me funny or asked me any kind of weird questions.

I meant I had a wallet before when I was 11-13 then got rid of it and got a purse but now I have a wallet again. I'm in college at the moment and I was going to tell one.of the teachers there. I have a few teachers I can talk to, its just choosing the right one.
I would buy guys underwear but my mum has to wash them and I don't think she'd be too happy. Once I tell her and my dad I think I can start to take more steps like that but until then I have to try and keep it subtle.

Ok, that explains your age and stuff.

I think telling people is good at times. If you pick the right people to tell, a lot of times they will be very supportive. Some people I have told have been wonderful.
