This happens to me constantly, I can't help but groan every time. I am a terrifying 7 ft. Paladin goddamnit.:

I like D&D :)
Any fun games you've played recently?

I know that feel, though it also applies to other RPGs and other players.
It's hard not to knee-jerk react, but I try to remind myself that it can be a disconnect for some folks. I've only known one person that was actively critical of 'cross-dressing' in RPGs, but I got round that by deliberately playing gay men to annoy him. However, that did lead to a misunderstanding with a totally different player, who tried to offer my Exalted character up to a female NPC, only to have to be told that, not only was my character gay, but was also married, and his husband was right there at the time!
A fellow player in my Apocalypse World game accidentally uses female pronouns for my character occasionally, but he's fairly new and a good guy, so I cut him a lot of slack, just gently reminding him each time. I think I made it harder for myself in that game, because I deliberately picked a male spelling of a usually female name, as the character is heavily based on Jayne from Firefly.

I love D&D. I think my favorite character to play is a changeling. Nim was the name of the character, lead assassin and quite talented in disguises. I think s/he had two or three different personas (male and female). It lead to a lot of confusion, and fun, at the table. >:-)

Quote from: DeeperThanSwords on December 10, 2012, 08:16:21 PMIt's not really the DM, it's all of his friends that play with us since they're not as experienced and aren't used to it. I normally put my gender as 'N/A' on the character sheets and it basically makes for a really silly game :)

Quote from: Schu on December 10, 2012, 08:21:24 PMI love playing a pansexual male with insane amount of charisma, really low intelligence. Basically trying to have sex with everything that moves :).

You should try out Monsterhearts, it's very trans & pansexual friendly (with the right GM).
By the way, depending on the number of roleplayers on here, I'd totally be up for running a PbP of Monsterhearts (or Apocalypse World).

Oh, I might just have to borrow that idea sometime!
@DeeperThanSwords: I'd be interested, if we get one started.

@ Schu and DeeperThanSwords
That sounds awesome, I haven't played either, do you have a link to either of the rule-books if they're available online.

Groovy! I'm just thinking where would be the best place to post a recruitment thread. Any of you RPGers on RPG.net?

Nope, never heard of it. But like Two way Rain, I can sign up for whichever is easiest.

I do use RPG.net exclusively (it's one of the more trans friendly places I know), so I'd prefer to do a PbP through there. However, I'll need to formulate a pitch first, so there's no rush. I'll post a link to the recruitment thread here once I've pinned it down.
