Title: Feeling Invincible!

I feel on top of the world today.
So far in my transition I have been knocking down every difficult task on my list of things to do. I've been happy but there has been one hang up. I've been unemployed since the very day I started full-time. I've made friends, become closer with family, gotten my name changed, gotten enough laser to be able to hide my facial hair, I have a closet full of clothes and shoes, passed well enough that I shock people in trans bars and gay clubs when I tell people I'm trans, rented a house in a brand new city... you name it I've pretty much knocked them down... except for going out as a female and getting a job.
Well today I'm now employed. 7.5 months into transition, and on the very week my unemployment ran out, my interviewer called me up and told me the great news, "Your resume was impressive and you interviewed very well, and we would like to offer you the position!" Proof that if it was meant to be, things will fall into place when you need them to. I'm now a gainfully employed female!!! Yay!!!
And as if that's not great enough news, I'll be working in a call center. Apparently my voice passes well enough to talk to people all day long under a female name :)
I'd love to go out and celebrate but... crap I have to work tomorrow :(

Yay! Congratulations on that, I went through the unemployment period, too.

So today I got a call from my boss. She wanted to see me to "discuss more opportunities" for me within the company. Lovely. So things were racing through my head, some paranoia but whatever.
I get there and they offer me a higher position with more pay and more bonuses... and better yet - much more face to face interaction with customers. Apparently they liked my energy and personality enough to single me out and offer me the position. A position they KNOW I've never done before but are willing to train me to get me there. I think I'll be accepting it :) Woo what a resume filler!! It's a tax preparer btw.
Wow... I'm likable enough to be the face of their company in a way. My self-esteem just got boosted half way to the clouds.
The only catch is I have to fill out stuff based on my last tax filing... which has my old name on it. I told them I had a name change and she asked me why... I looked at her with an "oh crap" smile and she simply said "It's personal? That's ok!" I'm filling out the form at home online tomorrow instead of doing it in front of them. They're okay with that.
Yayyyy!! :)
