Does anybody know of software to measure what pitch I'm currently talking in?  It might be useful to get a sense for where I'm currently at.  I've recorded my voice with audacity, but I don't know how to get this kind of information out of it...

When I took some voice therapy classes, they had a nice piece of software that did just that with a nice graphical waveform to show pitch.  Unfortunately, it was not generally available.  I think it's a hard problem to solve, as I haven't seen any other good free sites or software for it.

Here's a site: http://www.seventhstring.com/tuner/tuner.html (http://www.seventhstring.com/tuner/tuner.html) that will show a pitch (no waveform graphics, but will give you Hz and key).  Needs java enabled I think.

When I want to play with my voice, I use Spectrogram...it's a free software program.

Be sure to use the "help" topics to put the settings where you want them.

Thanks for the link!  I'll give it a try, even if it is java...  The tuner programs I found all played a tone for me to try to match.

Keep the suggestions coming!  I was bitten by the "new project idea!" bug after I posted this yesterday, and now I want to try everything and see what's already out there :D.

I also have a second free one, the "Overtone Analyzer"...

Although I like the graphics part better than the other one, OA only gives you 10 seconds of recordable sound.That's ok though, if you're just doing sounds (ah, oh, ee, etc) or short 1-3 word phrases.

I use sing and see. It's not free but it helped me a lot.

Amazon has a few guitar and other instrument pitch tuners. I found a few around 10 USD, so I'll be getting one since it's easier imo than bothering with a program.

Yes I got a guitar tuner and that helped a lot too for less than $10. Gives you a "starting pitch".

/bonk self. I've been looking at a bunch of these things and just now tried downloading one... then it hit me. I have a full version of Finale that can probably do this just fine.

There's an APP for that! If you have an iPhone (maybe iPad, not sure) there is an app called Cleartune which does a pretty decent job. There is also a new voice feminization app in production that should be available by mid 2013 that is promising to be amazing. I can't talk much about it because it is a secret. One of my girl friends is developing it for another friend of mine.

Helping me to really start some serious work!

I used Sing & See. It gives you the pitch and note, but the free version is only limited to 30 sec continues recording.
