Hello!!

Mine is an all too familiar story.

I started crossdressing at an early age in mums clothes.

Went into serious denial and have done loads of macho jobs and hobbies since. Did the getting married and having kids thing to show i could fit in with Societys' expectations of me and have a great wife and two beautiful kids.

I continued dressing in private and took the wife on some outings. Sadly she now falls into the non-accepting and putting her head in the sand category.

At the age of 43 after much soul searching, i started on this journey we call our transition. Who knows what the future holds?

I think its going to be a bumpy and expensive ride!!

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

You have a certain introspection on transition that is very correct. It is a bumpy ride and VERY expensive. However the bright side of things are the rewards and benefits out weigh the cost by about a million to one, roughly.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Welcome to the party Nikki. I guess I should chime in from rainy and cold Atlanta, Georgia on this Christmas Eve. While the road may be bumpy and expensive and loss is, for many, inevitable, the rewards are far beyond worth it. I first came here in mid 2009. I was scared. I was nervous. I had no idea what to expect of the future. I knew that I stood the chance of losing everything. The good thing was that I had little to lose and an infinite amount to gain. I have just celebrated my 13th month of living full time and being accepted by nearly everyone. Losses? There may have been a couple, but overall, I have gained friendships and family at rates that are beyond exponential increases over those losses.

Enjoy your stay here and enjoy your journey.

I like the name!

Im in a way similar deal, I can really relate. Your comment about this possibly being a bumpy and expensive ride made me giggle.
In my very short time being aware of these things, Im concerned about the cost too, but what else am I gonna do? It feels like most of my options about ignoring my GID simply vanished, and now its time to get down to it for me too :-)
