Title: Best Christmas in a very VERY long time (Just needed to share)

So, I live with my sister and her family, and in that sense, I feel very outcast. I'm not exactly a part of their family, so I was a little hurt when no one woke me up this morning. However, my tune changed when my sister gave me a stocking (I really didn't think that she would, but considering that she has small children, they would be very confused if Santa didn't give me anything) But still, it was very nice of her. Not to mention that she also gave me a shirt that says, "Team Dixon," and a button that says "WWDDD? What Would Daryl Dixon Do?" (( I love The Walking Dead, and Daryl is my favorite )) But this is all beside the point.
The best part of my day was ((well, their were two)) Firstly, my stocking was full of Old Spice - Meaning that I think my sister is beginning to accept my transition. She hasn't really supported me from the beginning, and she fervently insists on using my birth name and calling me a girl.
But the absolute best part was going to my dad's and having him use my chosen name.
I was floored, I couldn't even speak for a second, I just smiled like crazy and tried to not look dumb.
My father isn't really supportive either...well, he does support me, but he just doesn't believe that I'm trans, and he's not sure that I'm making the right choice. I know that he's trying his best to be okay with my decision, but he's worried about me, and I understand that. So I've never tried to push him. We do periodically talk about it, and I bring it up almost to 'remind' him gently...I just don't want him thinking that I've changed my mind - because I'm not the kind of guy that he thinks I should be (he keeps wanting me to be a stereotypical rancher boy, but that's just not who I am)
Regardless, I couldn't be happier with how this turned out. I'm so very glad to have had my father use my chosen name, and even my presents were addressed to the right person. Things are finally looking up! I just wanted to share the Christmas magic!

Glad to hear that you're gaining acceptance within your family. :)
I'm a "Walking Dead" fan as well and can't wait for Feb. (Glenn, Maggie, and Daryl are faves) Do you read the comics? The show is starting to deviate from them a bit but they're enjoyable as well.
