In one of many attempts to "man up" to my father, I got a couple tattoos. Not just any tattoos, but giant ones that cover each shoulder enough that they come down below any short sleeve shirts. The one on the left shoulder could be considered either feminine or masculine. It's a dragon. It's the one on the right arm that concerns me. It's a giant American flag complete with an American Eagle and an inscription in memory of someone. It feels rather masculine to me, but I can't think of any way to do a coverup. I really don't want to have to cover the inscription because it really does have sentimental meaning for me. Any ideas?

It's not for work, but that does look interesting. I may take a look at that stuff. Thanks. I was more looking for ideas to make it look a little more feminine.

Get it lasered off but leave the inscription?

Surely it would be possible to edit the tattoo.

It looks like that has improved a lot over the years, but there's still a chance at scarring and I'd rather have the tattoo than a scar.

I guess I could do that. Instead of thinking full coverup, just think about a bit of extra flair. Then I don't have to try to explain to the tattoo artist about why I'm completely changing an in memory of tattoo either. :)

They can't remove everything depending on the color, so I'm going to have the one on my right arm fully removed since it's all the 'easy' colors, though it will take a while. If it does end up looking scarred I'll think about what I can get, that's more feminine, to re-cover it. I have a smaller one on my left arm that has a lot of blue, and will have that one lightened enough to have it modified to be something else.

Either way, I want the ones I have now gone. They just don't fit me anymore.

Yeah mine has a lot of blue and red and she went very deep with the colors because of the sentimental value. It's about 5 years old and just as bright as the day I got it. Looking at the after pictures, it looks like both colors may cause some grief. I may give it a shot, but like you said, just have them lighten it up enough that I can do a coverup.
