Title: anxiety

lately my anxiety has been limiting me from doing everything from getting groceries, getting the mail and even getting up to shower. Its been so bad lately that being I haven't been out of my home for nearly two months, my hair is almost down to my shoulders. Its getting awfully long and I haven't had dysphoria like this, in over a year. I almost forgot what it felt like. It wouldn't be so bad if my younger brothers hadn't called me 'she' and 'her' at the christmas party. That hasn't happened in a very long time so its giving me more anxiety. I don't know what to do anymore. My therapist, psychiatrist and my doctor doesn't help. I've tried breathing exercises, exercising, yoga, classical music (I do love classical music!) but nothing works anymore. I feel like my body has portrayed me.
How do you relieve your anxiety? (my anxiety is not related my transition, its basically general anxiety)

For me, execising helps but you already said that isn't working. Being with my fiance helps lower my anxiety. Having him with me I know that if the anxiety gets to be too much i'm not alone. If you have a partner or close friend who you can be comfortable with maybe that could help you.
I have social anxiety so I don't really get anxious unless i'm around people or know i'm going to have to be around people. So usually I'm okay at home and when my anxiety gets bad i spend weeks to months hardly leaving my room. The only way i can get out of that is to just break out of it slowly. Like, go try to do something that's low pressure but just get out of the house anyway like go to the gas station or something. Then keep doing small things like that until my anxiety eases up. Maybe you could try that? idk i only know what works for me.
I'm really sorry for you man, i know how awful anxiety is. I know you can get through this. Good luck.

Hypnosis. Don't write it off. Hypnosis isnt this stupid magical thing that everyone thinks it is. It relaxes your mind by giving you relaxation techniques, "sit down" "take deep breaths" etc. Once you are very relaxed, your mind is more open to suggestions. Anxiety is subconcious and hypnosis deals directly with your Subconscious. Hypnosis works well on those with a higher IQ (I guess I was just a fluke in that theory ;P )
*excuse my rant about hypnosis, I get kind of pissy about it because people seem to want to dismiss it right off the bat as some sort of quackery.
I used to suffer from pretty intense hypochondria as well as anxiety. It took a few weeks, but hypnosis fixed it. You might be able to find it for free, but I paid 12$ for a download at a hypnosis downloads webiste (not sure if im allowed to put the name of the website up)
I listen to the anxiety hypnosis pretty much every night.
If purchasing it is simply not possible, I might be able to send you file that i use for anxiety. Its a wonderful file, they tell this really cool story

I know there are people who are dead set against anti anxiety medications but they do work. In your situation I would have a talk with my doctor about getting a Rx for something. For years I carried a bottle of xanax in my pocket for emergencies. After a long time of being on them I could learn what triggered my anxiety and aided by the meds I slowly worked through a bunch of issues. If you do decide to get some meds remember to use them as a tool and not a crutch. You can beat this. Good luck. :)

I do take meds. For anxiety and depression. They work but for shortly and it doesn't solve the problem.

Chuck, do you think you could send me a message with a link? I tried going to your profile but the forum said i'm not allowed to view it yet. (not enough posts i'm guessing)
