"A few thoughts on the past year . . .
I was impressed and inspired by a few people in 2012. First and foremost, Donald Trump for doing the right thing by Jenna Talackova and allowing her to compete in the Miss Universe Canada competition. I don't need to review the story — everybody has heard about it.
But I wasn't impressed by the media coverage surrounding Jenna's entry into the competition. It focused too much on the word "transgender" as opposed to "female."
