Title: Does this 'binder' do the job as good as it could be?

So today I bought a back support thing and am using it as a binder (i can't afford a proper binder at the moment and this thing was quite cheap). I think it compresses my chest well but I'm very self conscious as my chest isn't the smallest to begin with. Hope it's ok to post these, here's me with a jumper on:

And here's me with just a t shirt:

I think my chest passes with a jumper, just not too sure about the t shirt. Any comments are appreciated.

Your chest definitely passes with the jumper on. I'm not sure just the t-shirt though, it seems like it could pass. But it's hard to tell with just side shots though. The shape of the chest from the front is also important when it comes to passing. So the t-shirt seems like it could go either way depending on the shape of the chest from the front. From my experience though the back supports do an okay job with shaping the chest so that its at least semi-passable. I hope i helped a little. (:

My arms weren't long enough to take a front shot, trust me I tried a few times haha. I think I'll just chuck a shirt on with the t shirt and hopefully that'll cover it up a bit. Thanks.

Your welcome. Ahh I know how it is trying to take a picture but your arms don't seem to go the length you need them to go.

With the jumper on you'd definitely pass to me, it would depend with just the t-shirt. Guys moobs tend to not be as firm and float around a bit if you know what I mean, which could mark yours out as not being normal moobs in real life. Try some clothes with checks or patterns on, and an open shirt or jacket. I'm a lot smaller chested, but I can get away fine with a hoodie and jacket on without binding because it's winter, and it's very rare that I can with only a t-shirt. I'd not be comfortable like that anyway.

Definitely with the jumper. It's not noticeable with that loose top layer. I think that if you partially layer or wear some looser outerwear, you'll be fine.

Cheers for the advice Alex, I'll bear that in mind when buying t shirts in the future. Thanks Zerro, luckily it's winter so I can bind and just chuck on a hoodie. So glad that I finally got something decent to bind with :)

I use neoprene abdominal trimmers and while they do the trick and I've never had an injury due to them, they're hot as hell in the Summer...so look forward to that, lol.
I get the same "tire chest" thing too with one since I'm also larger chested. I never wear just a T shirt out in public by itself though (gotta layer). I wear a lot of polos and hoodies over a T shirt which helps. You could try a smaller T shirt under another T shirt and sometimes that helps. I get "loud" T shirts to wear (with a large logo or picture) to wear on the outside and it distracts the eye from what's underneath.

My t shirts tend to be loud ones too so that helps. I think layering will really help me, just not looking forward to the hotness of it haha.
Thanks.

In my experience, one layer of shirt doesn't do the job. It needs a button up, hoodie or whatever else depending on the season. However, I don't think people pay that much attention to whether something bulges properly so at least that works in your favour.

Yeah I think I realise that now looking back at the photo haha. I have a few shirts already and plenty of hoodies so it should be ok. Thanks.
