Title: About getting prescribed estrogene

hmmm well i have finally decided to go threw the change from male to female.....welll accually to get my self the way i should be hehe(so says my heart). i was curious when going to a doctor what type of medical coverage would i need to lower the price of estrogene? well thank you everyone for your post if you post something and i hope to talk with you more as a full fledged woman someday ^.^.

abd please forgive any of my misspells hehe

oh ya and what kind of doctor would i go to? hehe

Well, normally you start by seeing a psychiatrist or therapist experienced in treating gender issues. After a minimum of three months of evaluation (it may take much longer), if they feel you're ready, they'll write you an "HRT Letter" which recommends you for hormone therapy. You take that to a doctor/endocrinologist, and they'll develop a hormone regimen for you, including monitoring your blood levels.

As for insurance, it varies per company as to what they'll cover.
