Hi, First I'd like to just great everyone I just joined the forum and I'm just starting to come out to my family, friends and myself.

I have done a few high anxiety shopping excursions recently trying to finally get clothes I've always wanted to wear. I figured out my pant sizes rather easy, same for shoes (just cant find cute shoe in the right sizes now  >:( ) but the problem I am having is with shirts. I can't seem to find shirts that fit right. Everything I try seems to fit way to snug or the arms aren't long enough. I know women's clothes are generally all around more form fitting and that I won't look feminine in my old loose guy clothes but, I look terrible in the other shirts that aren't quiet long enough in the arms and to the waist and they really show off my stomach weight in a bad way. Does anyone have advice on better sizing or styles I should be looking into?

Are you in England?There's a shop called Long Tall Sally that specialize in tall womens' clothes and they also have shoes up to 11.I'm the same height and have had a lot of clothes from them,they have stores in most major cities I'm sure you can buy on line too.

In my country we have clothing wholesaler factories maybe if you have some too, you should try them.

I'm in the US, though I haven't tried some bigger department stores with more varied selections so maybe I can find a big and tall section at at one of them.

I'm 6" and I usually get a 2X in women's tops. But it looks like I'm a L or even M for tops from Woman Within. They seem to have a better selection of bigger sizes.

I usually got my clothes online. Shops like ebay, shopfromshop...The source are plentyful enough in different size

Don't get to worried and check out the internet for information about fashion for larger woman. This is a growth industry!! There are lots of large cis-woman as well and they have lots of info for clothing styles that make them look and of course feel good.

If I may, don't get tempted to go the 'something large will cover me and I can hide in it' style. Take pride in yourself and seek out nice good looking and well fitted clothes. You will feel a lot better and your confidence will increase (which is of course the big secret to passing).

Always be willing to ask the store people for advice as well, it is there job to sell stuff and it puts them on-side to help you.

I find going to the store is the easiest method, although sometimes scary. I spent a lot of time with a measuring tape to get my dimensions figured out to get the right size clothing online, but each manufacturer has a different sizing scale and even within manufacturers, the sizes may differ. If you must go online and don't have a baseline set of clothing from a specific manufacturer that you can use as a guide, I'd suggest going to a trans site to get sizing. The sizing of regular sites it based on the premise that your body type matches that of the gendered clothing. I don't have hips and my stomach is larger than my chest, so they never match up for me. Trans sites have all that stuff taken into account and can more accurately figure out your appropriate other sex sizes based on your current sex measurements.
