Title: For people worried about the sound their pee makes
Post by: mangoslayer on January 07, 2013, 03:27:58 PM
For some reason a lot of guys seem worried that they'll get outed by the sound of their pee if they dont STP. Even though it's irrational, i have to admit i worry too.
Today i discovered that if you put some toilet paper in the toilet before you pee, it doesn't make much sound.
It's a weird solution to a weird problem, but i figured i should let you guys know anyway.

I'm more concerned that people will hear me using the toilet paper to wipe myself after I go. The sound of the pee itself doesn't bother me. A lot of guys sit to pee.

I generally just sit and pee in spurts. If anybody asks, I've got a bladder problem where I can't easily maintain a steady flow.

I think about this every time I'm in a public bathroom, standing or sitting, even in really busy bathrooms. No idea why but it's funny now.

I just angle myself so that I'm peeing against the porcelain rather than the water. I worry about toilet paper more, but I have adopted the habit of grabbing some TP right after I enter the stall, before I even unbuckle my belt. Guys use TP to blow their noses, wipe a smudge off their shoes, wipe down a wet toilet seat, whatever.

Even so, I think I'm overthinking it. ::)

I'm mtf, and use the stall...I always get a bit of to, no matter what. For us, there's always a little bit of dribble at the end, and I need some anyway to help pad the tucked area.

I don't think they would really know if you went #2 or not for sure.

If I don't get an empty bathroom, it's definitely better if the place is like Grand Central Station. In those situations, I don't worry about getting TP after I piss. Lots of guys coming and going. Even if they were bothering to notice me on any other day (which I doubt), they won't care on a busy day.

Story of my trans life right here^^ lol

I just have to say that I love you guys because I go through this every day and am so glad to know I'm not alone!

I drink a lot of water so I have to pee constantly. I get so jealous of the cis guys who just get to mindlessly piss at the urinal and be done with it. Gonna try your method OP and see how it goes.

I've noticed that when guys are douchey or questioning about my bathroom behavior if I'm just aggressive or douchey right back I don't have any problems. Also a lot of guys wait in line for the stall and seem to be more self-conscious than I am so I bank on that self-consciousness distracting them.

Anyway I've stopped worrying about the noises I make in the stall. For all they know I'm in there doing drugs or hobo-bathing or something. Totally innocent, right?

lexical, I agree with you on wishing I could stand comfortably at a urinal to pee.  I use the mens regular and see guys standing in front of the urinals all the time and always wish I could do that as well.  I think we worry too much about what other guys will think when we pee.  I don't think there is  not much of a chance of anyone really learning anything from what they hear.  I have learn to use the mens when there are lots of guys in there, like at the ball parks after they have had all the beer they can hold.  I am pre-t so still get my monthly visitor; it is then when I must change a tampon in there that I would like to be alone.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one paranoid about grabbing TP after I've done my business. Like Arch I also tend to grab a handful as I walk in rather than afterwards, in the hopes people assume I'm just wiping the seat or whatever.

I try to tell myself "nobody cares, just get on with it" - which is most likely true, when was the last time you went into a public bathroom and stood listening to every little noise that was going on to scrutinise what people were doing? :P

When I first started going to the bathroom in college I had all sorts of excuses worked out in my head for why I go into the stall and sit down but as it turns out nobody has ever asked and they don't seem to give a hoot either way xD

Interestingly my cis male partner always sits down to pee, I asked him why once and he said "I dunno, just lazy I guess, any excuse to sit down"

they don't mean toilet paper for number 2

When you transition and start to use the women's bathroom you will know what I mean

All this anxiety that trans guys have about the restroom is a chimera. Really the only valid concern, IMHO, is whether you pass well enough. If you do, no one is giving half a thought to what you do in there. I don't always, but occasionally I'll grab a square and wipe after peeing, even when standing. Sometimes the shake isn't quite enough for my OCD. I have never given a thought to whether someone hears me get toilet paper.

Also, I'm really fast with the #2, as in I'm usually done in under a minute. It's like launching the torpedoes. I really can't imagine that someone was ever thinking to themselves "He's only had time to pee. Why is he wiping? OMG, he's trans!" Well, unless he was a trans guy in which case it's not that big a deal anyway. ;)

While I do sometimes get pee-shy, I never really worried about anyone noticing how I pee. Well I lie, the first few times I was like "omg should I be worried" because of trans forums :p but that quickly passed. Actually, the last time I was travelling and doing a fair shair of airport-peeing (lovely imagery there), I decided to make a "game" out of it. I cranked my creeper level to max, and tried to listen in on how other guys peed. Not once did I have a clue whether they were standing or sitting or what have you. XD

Anyways, if you're really worried about someone reacting to the grabbing of toilet paper, blow your nose. =D

I would like to offer my senior advice and some of that from a trans friend I used to go to college with. Guys don't notice and don't care. They go into the bathroom, do their business and leave. You could sit in the stall and play with the Toliet Paper and undo the whole roll and more than likely no one will notice or if they do, they will not commit unless they are very chatty and even then, I doubt they will would care why you did so. (Seriously, go do it and see what happens)

In fact, I think it should be a social experiment for all. Go into the bathroom, waste toliet paper, see if anyone says anything. It will make you feel more comfortable I think with this kind of situation. Oh, but don't use the whole roll, otherwise the guy behind you might be miffed he needs some too.

This is the truth.

For me, this isn't really the point. Before I transitioned, I used men's rooms off and on for twenty years, depending on how well I passed and what the situation was. So I know perfectly well that 99.99% of the guys don't notice and don't care.

It's not about them. It's about me.

Not sure if it's been said, but there are plenty of guys who need to use toilet paper after urination. It strikes me as gross to not do so... and having something to wipe with is very useful if a guy couldn't get it all out, for whatever reason.

I do like the using toilet paper to mask the sound of peeing idea, though. I hate being loud in the stall, so that will probably come in handy someday.

I will have to keep that in mind.

However, my brother makes the same sound I do when he pees sitting down (which usually indicates to me that he's about to take a crap-poor me to have a bathroom that's adjacent to my room) so I will try not to worry too much about it.
