I watched this and it was nice to see people able to change. Only one person went back to their old ways, which was sad, i saw them in a later video.

I just saw this link, visited it, and watched. I have always been a Dr. Phil fan because of his ability to cut through all the bull and get down to reality. I like how he operates.
In the beginning he says "Make no mistake, if you attack someone on my watch, I'll put your happy ass UNDER the jail!" Now, I can get with someone like that!
Edited for profanity

I am not particularly a Dr. Phil fan.

We had this kind of confrontational therapy for those who didn't get along in the first half of the 1970's in the Navy. At the time it was about racial relations. All that did was reinforce the bias that most of the people who went to those things had. It had a derogatory nickname I will not repeat here.

Ok, is it just me, or does everytime Dr. Phil show up on the TV, I imagine him saying "Hello house guests, I want to play a game" like Jigsaw?

Quote from: Kayla on February 17, 2013, 04:09:24 AMAt least John/Jigsaw gave the characters a chance, which was the whole point of his "traps" compared to the false challenges other characters made (because there was no way out/second chance).

I don't understand why some of you hate dislike Dr.Phil , he supports everything lgbt, and he seems to me to be a man of good character.
So please tell me why you don't like him.

Hate is a very strong word, I wouldn't go that far. Since you asked, he's rude and he acts like a know-it-all.

Disgraceful Dr. Phil Show Elevates Fringe Anti-gay Activists To 'Expert' Status (http://www.truthwinsout.org/blog/2009/01/1596/)
QuoteThe Dr. Phil Show clearly exploited Toni, the mother of a transgender child, and placed her in a psychologically abusive situation — which nearly drove her to tears. The episode, "Little Boy Lost," also falsely portrayed notorious anti-gay activists, Glenn Stanton and Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, as "experts" on gender and homosexuality.

Unless he's changed his ways, he isn't so trans friendly. He had a program about trans kids. The "specialist" he had on was something like Zucker, only less professional. He insisted that basically you should call them out and tell the kid to knock out the "girl cr**" (or boy "cr**"). He did not have someone like Dr. Spack on. This was a different episode than "Little Boy Lost" (and boy the title tells all-- actually it should be "Little Girl Found")!
The one I saw he continually misgendered the kids and so on. It was pretty brutal.

My mom was watching one where he was being sympathetic to an mtf who was still presenting as male. It also involved "her" wife.
So I guess he doesn't agree with parents who raise young children as trans.

I've actually read a lot of complaints and protests against Dr. Phil for being disrespectful towards LGBT people. Personally, I don't watch Dr. Phil, I don't like him but I'm always reading negative comments towards him so....their must be something twisted about the show.

I went to youtube to watch exerpts of Dr. Phil dealing with transgender. I agree that he is not respectful or understanding of our needs.

I like Dr. Phil on many issues but not on trans issues. Where I think he misses it is how
that each person is wired a certain way. Perhaps he's married to the two gender binary system.
If he did his homework he woulddiscover that there are many more expressions of gender.
In my experience, I discovered that these so called 'experts' aren't experts at all.

Especially when the "expert" in question isn't an expert at all, but a talk show host by trade.

As I understand it he is not actually licenced to practice in the US, so I really would rather listen to my Psych lecturers anyway.
