Hi girls, have any of you ever noticed that jeans are a mtf's nightmare? I love jeans, and I'm in northern Canada so its cold lol and most people wear jeans almost all year long. However, I find that I don't have a female butt, despite being on hormones for 3 years and being post op for 1 year. That means whenever I find a nice pair of jeans I wear them for a few hours and they start sagging and getting baggy in the butt, not very flattering. It gets very noticable after bending over, getting out of the car, etc.

Other women seem to wear them and have no issues. I'm assuming that it's because they have cisgirl rears. Apparently my flat ass is one thing that gives me away.

Any similar experiences or thoughts?

I'm ftm but I'm hoping I can give some input. I have a few friends who are slim and don't have much of a bum and they wear leggings and that brings out their bum more. Not sure if it's too cold for them over where you are though. Also, bootcut jeans with a slight flare tend to compliment a lady's bum more I find. I might be chatting rubbish as I'm usless with fashion but that's just ny experience from female friends.

Myself, I'm thinking of getting those butt enhancer/shapers, to make things a bit more rounded back there...my gf (mtf) is blessed with a natural roundness....

Hips and the relative waist proportions. I live for spandex, even in jeans material. But unfitted waistbands aren't usually considered stylish.

You might want to consider alterations? Get something that will fit in the hips and put in some darts with some stretch fabric to fit your waist. Or buy at the correct waist and alter on the hip seams... whichever works best for your figure or your seamstress's advice. As long as I was on a budget and not being read as a woman anyway, I tended to go for stretch waistbands, which at least at my main weight range, did not seem to have much rollover as long as I had the right size. With weight loss a lot of those bottoms are no longer safe to wear (tending to risk falling down altogether). The better choice would have been alterations, and chances are a lot of the cisgirls have to do them too.  I used to do then for my girlfriends in high school. Sizes and shapes vary far more than makers of ready-to-wear garments are likely to support directly.

This is also a problem for some cis women too as not everybody has a shapely behind.

A Google on 'dressing for flat bum' returns a whole heap of useful websites with handy shopping tips  :D  To enhance your rear end you really just need to buy the right kind of jeans as Joey mentioned.

Most of the advice there is about buying padded panties, adhesive hip bumps, or going for styles that add a visual illusion of wider hips. I think I posted a pic of me in guy mode somewhere here, that emphasized my hips when I was in my 20s, but they weren't jeans. They were some sort of chinos with lots of pleating. Good advice but it won't actually change the styling of most jeans.

If you can fit in them, try some "slim fit" jeans. They tend to have narrower hops and a smaller butt. I consider myself very lucky because I can't fit properly onto men's pants. If I get them with a waist that foots, hips and butt are way too tight, if I fit for the hips and butt the waist is too big. I've solved that issue by only wearing women's pants.

The point of my post was that there are heaps of sites out there that deal with this 'problem' and other body image issues, that most women face all the time, mainly as a result of a vicious media that judges women purely on their looks.  That site is only one example. Also, it's easy to be paranoid about one particular body part, but really, it's the whole body that people look at.  You are never judged as a trans person from one small 'imperfection'.   

I've never had a problem with jeans... and I'm a white chick with a fairly-flatt but as well. Women's jeans that fit me best are A&F, American Eagle, and Guess. These brands don't really have the big ba-donka-donk back side room that some other brands I've tried do. Also the slimmer the fit, the better... usually.

Decrease the waist size to wear skinny jeans. When I visited San Franciso 2 years ago, I purchased size-4 stretchable skinny jeans at Wal-mart. It was so much comfortable to wear, looking like jeans, but actually feeling like leggings. The brand name was "Miss Tina", and the price tag was just ca. $20. I still wear them all around the year, and middle-aged women tend to envy my tight hips.

I personally love jeggings.  I'm actually wearing some right now and I'm still presenting as male.  They feel soo comfortable and wrap around your body perfectly.

I also wear them in boy mode, they're pretty much all I wear now for pants.
