Title: How do your jeans/pants fit?
Post by: Josh on January 18, 2013, 05:03:36 PM
My jeans/pants are ALWAYS either too tight or too loose...i wear em lower than my waist so i buy 30"s cuz i can never find 28 or 29 anyway and if i bought those sizes i couldnt put em in the dryer...but im worried since im 6month on t about losing hip/thigh weight...my body fat has already shifted a good deal but now i dont wanna spend money on stuff that wont fit in a few months. Also wit the 30s i have a good amount of stretch and room in between myself and the jean...but they arent falling off when i stand or jump...jus a lil loose

Not well! They are too big in some places (legs, etc) and too small in others (hips) or whatever. I fit in a boy's 20 Hefty, but sadly the pockets aren't as good.

Being Pre-T, I've got too much thigh and butt to fit into most men's jeans :C I've been planning on going to try some boys' husky jeans since they're shorter and maybe will fit...
Right now I've just got some average-fitting bootcut women's jeans :P They're androgynous enough...

Mine fit pretty well once I find a good pair. I'm just kinda small around the waist and have relatively long legs so I usually have to find jeans with different waist and in-seam sizes.
Then again, I like to wear pants that are slightly too big for me because my legs would look like toothpicks in skinny jeans (I guess that makes them perfect for such pants) and I can always hang them around my waist with a belt.

I'm pre-t.  I've got a pretty big butt and bodacious hips, although my shoulders are wide enough that the portions are masked a little.  I can wear baggy men's jeans ok, but when I start wearing jeans my size, they hug my butt and hips and accentuate them.  Lately I've been going with khaki cargo pants.  They're nice and loose but don't look overly baggy and mask almost everything.

Since being on T my shape has changed a lot and it's still changing. I wouldn't recommend investing in a new wardrobe right now.

I'm Pre-T and currently have to get 38 or 40 [once 42] when it comes to pants.  They're either too short, too baggy, or too tight depending on the cut.  I'm hoping this changes a little bit upon T, but I can't be certain given my height and just how big my hips are.

I wouldn't go out and buy a whole new set of clothing just yet.  But looking for boy's jeans at a thrift store might help you in the meantime.

What I did is basically look for *one* pair of jeans that fit. Once I found the one pair, I had a brand name. I think the hefty might work, because of the little extra room it gives in the waist/hips area. Sizes 18-20 might work. One of them I actually did NOT have to take up. Amazed me.

Overall boys 14 or 16 fit me very well, except that when I wear khakis the pockets kind of stick out because of my hips. I am sure there's a way I could alter the pockets to keep them from sticking out, but I just don't feel like sewing right now.

It's incredible how you guys can wear such small boys pants :O  I had to shift to men's sizes when I was about 11.
Right now I'm 32 in regular jeans, 34 in skinny jeans because of my butt -.- But generally, 32-33, length 30. I stand 5'7, about 5'8 in shoes or more. Jeans fit better on me than pants, until my butt fat redistributes. I try to find jeans that dont make it stand out much, and I tend to wear shirts that are slightly covering it. Picking jeans out is a 2 minute thing for me  ;D

I'm amazed that you all wear such large trousers. 14 year old boys tend to fit me reasonably well in both length/waist, don't know how I'll get them to fit if I need a smaller waist on T. I've a pair of 28" that just about fit but wouldn't dream of wearing without a belt, and a pair of 27" that just look stupid in the seat. St of my jeans I've had for years, so I rarely buy any new.

My biggest problem is that I generally fit in a 30-32, but I need a 28 or shorter inseam. :P Mostly gotta hem any mens' jeans I get.

Haha, I need waist size 30 (which is still a bit too big for me) and in-seam 30-32. :D Long legs...

Same. When I was ten I started wearing bigger sizes, boys 16 I believe and grew out of them quickly with my hips thighs and butt growing so big. Dam that e puberty.

To the op, I'd say thrift store is a good deal $1-7 jeans is a steal if you find a good fit, just hunt around.

How every pair of jeans this with length. This ifs the shortest available length. Boys husky fitted better, but I have a little too much booty.

I feel like an idiot about this seeing yall talking about taking in and hemming stuff. My pants never fit right and I stopped trying a long time ago. Even when I find a pair I like they're always too long (my pelvis is wide even when I'm underweight) and it never crossed my mind to hem them or otherwise alter them by sewing. I always just roll them up or cut them off. Hmm.

Mine fit terribly. The army surplus trouser are already quite baggy, and I wear them below my hipbones to disguise my huge arse somewhat, so... yeah... baggy as heck.

Nothing wrong with that. I think if you don't sew them, they will more likely ravel.

I'm a 31-32/30 and do pretty well with pants as long as I stick with my go-to brands (American Eagle for jeans, Perry Ellis for slacks). Regular slacks have insanely baggy legs, like I have no idea whose legs are anywhere near big enough for them so a slim fit is a must. For jeans, the AE slim straight fit is perfect for me as it's right between the boot cut/relaxed and skinny styles.

For guys on the shorter side - AE pants waists start at 26" and the inseams tend to be shorter than the advertised length (i.e. the 30" inseam is usually 29"). I think they also do 26x26 and 28x28. Tis quite handy.

Men's jeans tend to fit me better (at least, stay up on my hips better) than women's jeans. I think I'm shaped funny. I have a distinctly female lower half, but women's jeans slip right off my backside when I bend over. I'm a 30x32-33, which can be awkward to find for some reason.

Slim and skinny men's jeans tend to be pretty tight around my thighs, but that's to be expected.

I just went out and found my new favorite jeans-
For the short guys out there with a men's size waist- try Levi's boys husky. I found my perfect size in these- a 32x27. Personally I prefer the straight cut, but they've got several others as well. They fit really nice, plus they don't make my butt look round and feminine like all of my previous jeans do. They've got just enough room for my massive thighs, but they're not too big at the ankle. They're a thick denim too, which is nice for me because I tend to wear holes where my thighs rub together.
The best part? They're only $28  ;D

I went to go get new wranglers over the winter and that didnt work out lol but I did find Ariats that fit like a dream! The ones I have are 32"32s but a little big so I could've gone with 30x32s but they fit amazingly in the butt/thigh area and I'm 5"7  and have quite the butt and built legs, so I think Ariats are going to be a good buy for anyone. Traditionally, they're western jeans but I love them! I only have 1 pair ATM, as they're really pricey (mine were on sale & I got a military discount 32$ish
Normally 60-70$)

Pre-T and I realized I have to buy pants for my hips, because if I buy pants at my waist size (something like a 34) they don't fit, so I have to get a 36 and wear a belt. That being said, as long as I get somewhat stretchy jeans (98% cotton and 2% spandex is the perfect blend for slightly stretchy jeans, I have discovered) they fit pretty well and look decent.

My favorite type of jeans are skinny slackers, which are basically skinny jeans but a little bit more loose so you don't feel like a sausage. They fit really well (don't have to stretch them out every time I wear them) and look good. Unfortunately, the brand that really made them (anchor blue) went out of business. :(

Oh gosh.. Honestly, I don't like wearing baggy jeans or pants - it drives me nuts for some reason. :o
I mean, I can't have them flapping around or anything, you know?
I try to wear pants that are comfortably fitting around my hips and waist, yet also look good on my legs.
A pair of pants I have -- actually, they're womans pants, but I have to say, they look pretty darn good. :P
They fit comfortably but don't accent my hips or small legs, you know?
They fit perfect.
I actually have a really hard time finding pants, or any regular well-fitting clothes for that matter, because of my size.. I'm so darn small! I go to a lot of stores and all of their clothes are too big - even their smallest sizes! It drives me crazy; most of the pants I wear are woman's because they're the only kind that will fit!

Mine are baggy, but I love baggy pants, so it works well for me :D

As for normal sizing, they are a bit too big width wise, but length wise it's fine.  I'm tall and skinny, so they fit weird if I would want a normal sized pair of pants.

I can still wear pants from before T and they fit the same. There just wasn't much to change on my body. And I too am blown away by the small sizes here. I'm not even going to say what size I wear!
Geez wish I could pick up clothes from the boys section. Much cheaper that way, I bet.

I can wear boys 18. They are a tad tight in the hips. But not so anyone else would notice. My problem with boys pants is the inseam. They fit fine standing by, but sitting down, we'll let's just say they give me a wedgy in the wrong place.

I get most of my clothes at goodwill, so I can't be too picky. At least I find pants. Shirts seem much harder or me. Here is a question. When I start T I know my arms won't grow, but will my shoulders broaden enough to make the sleeve length correct?

I started wearing men's clothes right after I realized I was trans. I haven't had any changes being pre-T (grrr). The only thing I wear that's female is that stuff I wear around the house. It's loose and I like wearing loose clothes. But I'm going to replace it with guy's stuff.

Most of my stuff is from the thrift store. I have a pair of jeans I bought in the boy's dept (yes cheaper, but somewhat less nice-- not as deep pockets).

I only started wearing men's pants a few weeks ago, though I've been wearing shorts for a while. I'm a size 33 and I'm sticking to slim fitting, though I'm still self conscious about how my hips look in them.

I don't know if that's just me, but going shopping for anything for my lower half makes me really tense, like the possibility of not finding anything that fits my shape completely invalidates my gender.

I was the same way about my upper half. Big tits. Now all I have to worry about is the store running out of fat sizes.

So the Levi's my mom picked up the other day are a kid's 16 (they don't say boys or girls and appear pretty much unisex). 28x28, straight-leg. I like them so far  :P

ahh thats a great idea though, wearing husky boys sizes...
I always have my damn ass and hips in the way of wearing proper jeans, there's only so much larger I can go until the pants become too long.

That area can be a bit of an issue but probably not as much as other people. Though I despise the clearly non-male figure I see in the mirror if I catch a glimpse of myself unclothed  >:(
Also a quick note, looked up the pants and they happen to be boy's jeans. I won't tell her though- she's already had a fit over me being upset that some teachers insist on calling the students "Sir" or "Ma'am" (which is ridiculous anyway) and gave me the usual nonsense about throwing my life away and how she won't let me be a freak, and also something about going to live in a seedy underground community of transsexuals and men who dress in women's clothing and men who think that they are women if they chop their penises off. You know what? Sounds pretty good to me  :P

They do to an extent, but I still don't feel comfortable straying too far from what I used to wear growing up, if that makes any sense. Sort of trying to find a good balance between what I've become accustomed to over years of women's pants and trying to look more "masculine". It's a work in progress.

My hips aren't too wide anyways, I'm still being read as male even in my slim fitting jeans - though not 100% of the time.

My hips usually aren't the problem when it comes to jeans. It's the butt. It's not gigantic, I think...but it's very feminine in that it stick outs, so I have trouble with jeans/pants fitting properly. I usually do go for a baggier look to camouflage the back end, but I would love to find a pair of pants that don't necessarily look like I'm drowning in them.

Butts, belts...I solve these both with the same highly unsatisfying technique: the overly long sweatshirt or jacket.

If you're good at sewing, you can try taking in the outer seams.

Just make sure you have the proper needles on a sewing machine.

As embarrassing as it is to admit, my favorite pair of jeans is a Miley Cyrus brand. I got them two or three years back, they're just black, and I've lost quite a bit of weight since then... so they're the most ridiculously comfortable jeans in the world. I actually only have four pairs of jeans; three are gray, one black. I know two of the gray ones were actually bought from the men's section, but I'm not sure about the last.

Either way, I could probably stand some new pants. They're all very loose. My boyfriend has fun pantsing me when we're alone in the kitchen. ;-;
