Susan's Place Transgender Resources

Greetings- I have been surfing this site for the last week, and decided it was time for a intro.  (I must admit this is my first post on a chat board ever). I am 37 years old and am finally coming out of the closet (again) but very slowly. My partener of 15 years actually pointed out to me that maybe I should think about what makes me happy as she feels like she lives with 2 people one happy, fun to be around male, and one miserable, confused female and that basically she likes the nice person with the great personality and would prefer that that be the full time person she lives with regardless of gender. So here I am thinking I'm too old to start but deciding I would rather follow 37 miserable years with 37 happy years than keep it going the way it is. I am new to all of this and going slowly as I have 2 children and know I need too keep my family in mind. I also know I am very lucky to have a very supportive SO. The last couple of weeks have been an emotional rollercoaster (good thing I have a great therapist!) and this board has been a great support system to date!
Thanks for all the support so far! PS I'm not really feeling angelic (would proabably be the first time ever if I thought I was, I just can't figure out how to change the mood icon yet)  :D

Nice to read your intro Myles. This was the first place I ever posted, after lurking for months. :)
It sounds like you are indeed lucky to have a supportive SO and already are in therapy. The ride can sometimes be bumpy, but very exhilarating. This is a great place for support and has helped me get through some bad days. I look forward to reading more from you.

So good to meet you. Your young; I'm 56 and it was only about a year ago I woke up and began to understand who I am. It's never to late to transition.
Oh and you are so lucky to have a understanding SO. She can be a great help to you.
I have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. My SO and children are very much oppose to me transitioning.
And It is so good that you are working with a threopist. You are ontrack for a sucess Myles.

As they've told me here, you're never too old to start transitioning. I'm 28, but my body thinks it's 98.

Thank you everyone. I know this is a long road and am glad I can have a safe place to try and help me with my travels. I have been reading the forums and trying to get as much info as i can and have got my SO to read that forum. I will keep you all posted as well as ask questions, ao bare with me as I am so new to all this.

Thanks! Spend way too much time at the gym at this point. Place I feel the most comfortable! I have been an athlete pretty much all my life sports has always been a good outlet and a place I fit in the best.
