Title: Slipping heels and OUCH

So I wear heels.
I like them.
But today I had the accident that I sort of knew was going to happen. I was walking down a tiles corridor and whoosh, my right heel slipped and wham straight to the floor landing on my left knee.
No warning, I couldn't react, my reaction was hitting the floor.
I have a very sore knee. :eusa_boohoo: :icon_cry2:
How do you stop heel slip? These were new shoes, OK I can buy anti-slip heels and put them on but that is sort of after the accident.
Any tips?

I'm by no means an expert or that experienced but I've heard roughing up the bottoms on purpose can help with that.

It seems to be a particular sole. A very hard brown plastic type that has little tread. I have the same on a pair of wedges and I have slipped in them, but never so badly.

It is the material the heel is made of. Similar story here a while ago, but they were black.
Can't really soggest anything other than scratching the heel and sole with a knife or file.

I feel so badly for you right now.
Shoes are one of those things which are so difficult to get that happy, 3 way medium between what we want to wear, what feels comfortable and what is practical.
It's not as if any worht wearing are cheap either.
Best of luck Cindy. Just a small thought. I recall, many years ago, a dancer claiming that when we slip it's because of how we are walking. He claimed that the worst mistake most people make is to move forward before their foot has a proper grip. Just some thought.
But whatever Cindy. take care. You can type with a bad back, but not much else.

Ouch! I feel for you :(
Have you considered putting an anti-slip sole onto the heels in question? The effect may be negligible but every little helps.
You could also think about placing your foot securely before you put your weight on it, but that may leave you looking like Bambi on ice!
Other than that, possibly wearing comfortable shoes and keeping the heels for inside/fancy occasions :)

I have a couple of really cute pairs of heels that are horribly slippery. I walk toe heel instead of heel toe. That way there is not much pressure on the heel, and I don't slip. It also can make your legs look sexier and give you a really nice, natural but wave. >:-)

Cindy, I strongly suggest you not wear these to work any longer!

Of course, when you start to slip, just quickly assume this three-point stance, and all will be well.

Could you get some rubber soles and heel tips put on?
