Title: Buying packers etc in the UK - free 2-3 day delivery on all items.
Post by: akitokitoast on February 20, 2013, 06:35:37 AM
So basically I have been assuming that I would have to buy packers from American companies and get them shipped all the way over here and pay a fortune and that's totally not true?

You can get a 12 quid packer from this place, they deliver in 2-3 days without any postage charge, and you only have to be 16 to buy. You can even pay by postal order if you don't have a bank account and they're very discreet. So that's cool.

(they don't sell binders)

I've bought a quality hard packer, rodeoh harness, and two soft packers (i intend to convert one) for just over £100 today and it's going to arrive tomorrow in an unmarked brown box. I'm excited!

The site is lovehoney.co.uk and I encourage UK ftms to at least check it out.

(unless of course everybody knew about this except me. but i'm very happy anyway)

Is itheir delivery next day? My girlfriend brought something from them a few weeks ago and it took two or three days to get there. She did get it though and the boxing is definitely discrete. Thinking about it d arrive on Valentines day though so that could be why it took a few days .

The free next day delivery is when you spend over £75. Sorry I didn't write that in the original post, my order was over £100 so I didn't even notice the little line that said that requirement. If your order is under £75 it will still deliver for free, but take 1-2 working days. Or you can pay £5.95 for next day delivery.

Sorry!

Lovehoney Order Review 21/02/2013
I apologise for the fairly low quality of the photographs, I am just using my laptop's built-in webcam and an office lamp so they're not exactly professional.

I ordered;
•   1 black size Large Rodeoh harness [£34.99]
•   1 Tantus Pack 'n Play No 2 [£44.99]
•   2 Extra Small Limpy packers [£11.99 each]
Total: £103.96 with free delivery

Packaging and Service
Delivery options change depending on how much you spend.

The options are;
Super Saver Royal Mail [Free] 2-3 working days
First Class Royal Mail Tracked [3.95] 1-2 working days
Royal Mail Special Delivery [5.95] Next day at 1pm (If you order before 4pm)

If your order is over £30 you get First Class Royal Mail Tracked free.
If your order is over £75 you get Royal Mail Special Delivery free.

My order came Royal Mail Special Delivery. It arrived at 10am on the promised day, at the same time as the regular post. The packaging is a simple brown box. It was very discreet and seriously well sealed (I had to use the scissors all over the place to get into it). The parcel does say 'LH Trading' on it in very small letters as the return address. If you google this it comes up with Lovehoney immediately. However, the person who delivers your post probably really doesn't care that much. I look as though I am about 12 years old and the postman had no issue handing it over to me.
Here is the box. The silver circle in the right hand corner is a ten pence piece to help you see the size.

Lovehoney Customer Service is absolutely brilliant. They have a 'Live Chat Help' service which is available between 8am and 10pm, Mon-Fri. They answer very promptly and are friendly and helpful.

(Tantus Customer Service is also very prompt – I emailed them and received a reply about two minutes later which answered my question sensitively and completely).

Lovehoney has a 365 day returns policy providing the things you are trying have not come into contact with your skin, so at the end of the day if you don't like what you've bought or it's the wrong size, you can always send it back.

In the Box
As well as my basic order, I also received;
•   1 Lovehoney Welcome Pack
•   1 Rodeoh dog tag (I think that's what they're called)

Lovehoney Welcome Pack
My welcome pack came in a nice purple drawstring bag and contained;
•   1 tin of Lovehoney 'get fresh!' mints
•   1 5ml sachet of Lovehoney water-based lubricant
•   1  'Welcome to Lovehoney – 20 ways to live a sexier life' booklet

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1297.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fag33%2Fakitokitoast%2FTPhoto_00013_zps902b6005.jpg&hash=73307177836d4d9548475983134456f6a17e921b)

The mints were nice enough, but underneath the minty taste they worryingly tasted rather like the packers smelled. Not sure if the mints taste like the packers or if the packers smell like the mints. I hope the latter. The tin was a total bitch to get into and there were 79 small mints inside. There is no use-by date. Once you have got the lid off, it is then very loose and not very secure after that. I wouldn't put them in your pocket or anything.
I have not tried the lube. It has no use-by date on it.
The booklet is pretty much just 20 adverts for Lovehoney products, but there are a couple of interesting suggestions.

Rodeoh
The Lovehoney website said that Large Rodeohs were for UK sizes 14-16 and that XL was for 16-18. According to this website I am a size 16. On a hunch I bought the Large size rather than XL as I felt it was better for them to be a little small than too big. Turns out Large was pretty perfect as a size.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1297.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fag33%2Fakitokitoast%2FTPhoto_00012_zps58e75ca3.jpg&hash=0a7199a7892ff92ca6b963d6ea87e33d47e08a33)

This is what they look like. The red circle you see is where the hard packer you are using goes. There's a sort of pouch which holds the flared base of the packer.
They are comfortable to wear just as normal underwear during the day and you don't really notice the O-ring while you are wearing them, but I personally would not wear them as underwear because the logo is very large and obvious so if you bend over people are going to know you're wearing a harness.
When I put them on with my Tantus attached, I found that they don't support the weight of the packer very well. It sort of hangs down. But this is just the O-ring going down, it doesn't pull the waistband down or anything and I can't see it being an issue when they are actually in use.
With the Tantus attached, they are still comfortable to wear.
I have not yet used these in a practical situation given that I received them today and I am currently single.
As mentioned above, they also came with the dog tag pictured below. The bronze circles are 2p coins. The chain is about 60cm long when you undo it.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1297.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fag33%2Fakitokitoast%2FTPhoto_00016_zpsab9267af.jpg&hash=55d65a0b81a579c18e1fe935d33315dd37b6b6c7)

(It's sort of cool but I'm not sure I would wear it? My ownership of a Rodeoh harness is not something I particularly wish to advertise.)
The harness came in this cool drawstring bag.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1297.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fag33%2Fakitokitoast%2FTPhoto_00011_zpse86bb119.jpg&hash=9c1314e233ae92ccb70625528969189111705ece)

The white thing you can see is just the order sticker. It comes off. The paragraph under the 'BRIEF.' reads as follows;

'Beyond being stylish and sexy. The rodeoh is significantly more comfortable than any other harness on the market. Slip on like a pair of underwear and wear all day. No time is wasted buckling and fastening with rodeohs. Experience a closer connection between you and your partner with just cotton between you.

Machine or hand wash and hang to dry.

Please rodeoh responsibly!'

Tantus
It is very firm, but will bend into a u-shape if you apply a bit of force. This does not seem to have any detrimental effects.

Please note while reading this review and the packer review that I have never come into contact with a cis penis, or seen one in real life. However through anatomical drawings and porn I believe I have a generally good idea of what a penis should look like.

Things I like about this product;
•   The level of detail. You can see and feel veins and there is even a small dip for the urethral opening.
•   It curves realistically.
•   It is a good size.
•   It feels good when you grip it.

I am happy with this product and it is what I wanted to buy, but it does have a few drawbacks;
•   It only comes in one colour, which is sort of a brown caramel colour. In the picture below it is leaning against normal white office paper so that you can get a bit of an idea of the colour. Obviously if this is your skin colour, this is no problem but as I am very pale it's a tad annoying. But I figure that when you get to that stage with a person, they either know you're trans or are about to find out anyway.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1297.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fag33%2Fakitokitoast%2FTPhoto_00017_zps748ae726.jpg&hash=42b92c654782f2a5d0cb0b7c9b2dee7792389984)

•   As you can see the head is quite shiny, which I feel looks a little odd.
•   It attracts fibers and dust like some crazy magnet, but I was expecting this.
•   It has a very rubbery texture. Lube definitely required no matter where you are using it.
•   It's really heavy? This may just be my expectations failing me, but it's a bit odd. It weighs 245 grams according to my scales. (I just weighed a dick on my kitchen scales. What am I doing with my life?)

Despite the drawbacks above I am very happy with it as a product and it is exactly what I expected it to be (except the weight).
The website recommends that you keep it in its original packaging. The packaging is a little bit fiddly but it's very easy to use for storage. I have included a picture below.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1297.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fag33%2Fakitokitoast%2FTPhoto_00009_zps9df7a033.jpg&hash=0dca7857cd228080bb7068cfa893cf68e79f7962)
(I don't know how to rotate it, I'm sorry)

Limpy Extra Small Packers
I have bought two of these as I intend to turn one of them into an STP using this product. Below is a picture of one in its original packaging and one taken out.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1297.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fag33%2Fakitokitoast%2FTPhoto_00008_zps7b0b913b.jpg&hash=c5bd3d0cab3804ae8edca361e4144a4bd02f59d4)

The first thing I noticed about the packers was that they are quite damp (not sticky, but damp – sort of greasy). This even applied to the outside of the packaging, which caused part of the box to have water-type damage on it and for the other products that were packed close to it to be a little damp on the outside.

It is very realistic, there are wrinkles and notches and so on. Its only detractor is that, as the balls are quite large, it does give a slightly unrealistic bulge in comparison to my height and build (5 foot 3). However, if you use reasonably tight underwear, the bulge becomes more realistic in size. It matches my skin tone fairly perfectly (your average white Brit). I am massively happy with this product and it is great to look down at and see it there when I held it. Seriously super realistic. I love it so much oh my gosh.

This, like the Tantus, attracts fibers and so on. Beware when using with dark-coloured underwear.

The picture below shows the packer and my arm resting on white office paper so you can get an idea of the colour.

(https://www.susans.org/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1297.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fag33%2Fakitokitoast%2FTPhoto_00018_zpsf57febda.jpg&hash=78995b81e3b155e78969b4515d8c397a1079b213)

I love it! 10/10 would recommend to everybody. However as far as I know (and certainly from lovehoney), it only comes in this fairly pale white skin colour. I am aware that previous editions of this packer have been very pink, this seems to no longer be the case.

Overall
I am massively happy with this entire order. Feel free to ask any questions/request pictures from different angles/in different light and so on.

I thought I'd just chip in as I had some... experience... with the Lovehoney lube today, and that was one of the only things you were unsure of.  I've never had contact with other lube other than the natural made stuff before, but the Lovehoney water-based lube is exactly how you'd expect lube to be I suppose, slippery.  It does dry fairly quickly if you put it on a toy and not on your skin -- we were trying to jerk off a strap on and that didn't work so well -- but it did the job quite nicely on the body.  It might just be because it was cooler than my skin, but it also seemed to be slightly tingly on my nipples, I'm not sure if that was on purpose, but it was quite pleasant and not enough to make me worry about having a reaction (I only thought about it because my girlfriend was reading the bottle aloud at the time).

We got a pack of two strap-ons, and I'd gone around her's for the first time since they'd arrived, so we were messing around with those, and I discovered that they do leave some sort of oily residue behind on matt paint (don't ask, it amused me to find out that you could use the slight suction cup on their base to stick them to the wall, and also to my forehead, resulting in what looks like a hickey).  I'm not sure if this is the same stuff that you mentioned coming off the packers, but if it's a common thing for stuff like this it might be worth being a little careful as to what you leave them on, I'm not too sure whether that mark is coming off her wall any time soon.

Also, do you think that you could make your own version of the RodeOH easily or not?  I looked them after realising how much of a nightmare harnesses are, but don't want to spend £35 on what's essentially a holey pair of pants, and I've heard of people making their own.  Do you think it would work, and what sort of underwear would work best?  I was thinking maybe the compression sports stuff.

Alexander-

Thanks for the oily stuff warning!

As for making your own rodeoh:

For material you're going to want something stretchy that you can get on, but will then constrict and stay on. The rodeoh I have is 95% cotton, 5% elastane, but I would think anything tough and stretchy would work. You're probably in the right department with sportswear. If you know what you're doing with sewing and  things then you'll probably be okay (I'm useless) - all you're really going to need except the underwear is an O-ring, which you can probably get from the kinds of places that sell things like taps (you've probably seen O-rings on taps before - DIY stores and stuff should sell them. If you make a harness, I would advise putting in a pocket behind the O-ring, so that you can put the base of whatever you're using in it so that it doesn't create a whole bunch of not-the-fun-kind of friction against you. Rubber hurts after a while.
