went to a queer group yesterday. when we introduced ourselves we had to state our prefered pronouns. that was fine. today i was talking with one of the girls and she wanted to add me on fbk and she was like hey lady....
first of all i was pissed that she completely ignored my intro yesterday. i replied and just said please use masculine terms when referring to me. Now i am all anxious and panicky. i know i am entitled to demand she respect that i am masculine but at the same time im like what if she doesnt want to be a friend...i have no friends, none and am trying to make some. so i hope she respects it and i respect myself enough to know i wont bother with her if i have to remind her once more
i guess i just neeeded to vent a little.

I'm sorry she said that to you. I know the feeling. I'm sure she'll still want to be your friend. I really don't know why people call people the opposite of what they want to be called...? But that is good that you stood up for yourself and told her you wanted her to use male pronouns. I'm sure after you told her that, I'm sure she'll use the right pronouns with you now.

Yeah, you did the right thing correcting her. She probably just forgot about your intro...keep in mind she might have been nervous herself, since she had to introduce herself too. It's good that you respect yourself and know you deserve respect, and I hope things work out for you re:finding new friends.
