Title: Failed vaginoplasty
Post by: saracadle on March 03, 2013, 03:21:38 PM
Hi
I am looking for some advice.  I had a vaginoplasty 5 years ago,i went private for the surgery and all of my hormones, well I now have less than 2 inches depth and less than an inch girth. Suffice to say its pretty useless I don't belie it was anything that the surgeon did as I was rather small when it was the other way round.
What I am unsure about now is what  can I do.  I was thinking that as I have now had my gender identity changed and now I have a birth certificate in my correct sex that maybe I could get the NHS to pay for a colovaginoplasty. I was going to ask my GP to refer me to charring cross clinic to discuss my options, but am not sure if they will.
Any advice would be great this is really starting to get me down.

Sorry to hear of your problems.

Get your GP to refer you back to your original surgeon for advice.

There are plenty of trans women who had failed initial SRS, its not the end of the world.

You can always get corrective surgery, possibly a secondary colovaginoplasty.

All the best xo
