Title: Hello to Everyone
Post by: Renae.Lupini on May 24, 2007, 09:30:09 AM
My name is Renae and I am FT MTF TS from VA. That is a lot of abbreviations. It almost sounds dignified. (ha ha) I have the same basic story as every other TS on earth. Strange childhood and even worse teen years and so and so forth. I did almost nine years on active duty in Marine Corps and was immediately outed after my contract expired in March of '06. This was the kick in the ass that I needed and my plans of being myself got a little bit of a jumpstart. I am so damn happy they did too. I also have a six-year-old daughter who now calls me Aunt Renae. Above everything else, I am happy with my life. I had no idea that I would have ever made it this far so everything from here on out is just bonus material in this journey called life. If there is anything you feel that you may want to know about me then by all means just ask. I promise there isn't anything off limits or too weird to talk about.

I was at the National center for Transgender Equality annual lobby day earlier this month and through a friend I met there I have ended up on here. I don't like to seem like I am trying to tell people how to live so I stay away from forums for the most part. I figured I made it along to where I am in a very short time and have no real bad moments to speak of so I might as well share my experiences and methodologies with others in the hopes of it just might help them get through the journey of self-discovery.

Hi Renae, first, nice to meet you. I'm new here also. Just starting my journey and I don't know where it will lead me but I'm keeping an open mind about it. Look forward to seeing you around :)

Welcome to Susan's Renae,

Good to hear that your transition has been positive in a short time. I was interested to hear that your daughter calls you Aunt. I am working on what to have my kids call me, especially after using Dad for 21 and 14 years, respectively. Thanks for being willing to share your experiences, I look forward to reading more about you.

Hugs,

Rhonda

Hi Renae, Welcome to Susan's, I like the Aunt thing. I haven't had the courage to tell my kids yet (m29&f27) I don't know how they will react. Only time will tell. I'm new here too and just starting my journey, I really hope things will be better than my exsisting life has been so far. I agree with your comments about "New Boobies" I'll  be happy with anything that comes along when I start HRT.

Years ago I had a talk with my now ex-wife and out of respect for her I won't allow my daughter call me Mom. I came up with aunt Renae after one too many Daddy's in the grocery store. Now she tells everyone how Aunt Renae is a girl so don't call her a boy. That was her doing and not mine at all. My ex-wife trying to counter it but even she relented and now calls me Renae. Who would have thought my biggest supporter would be my six-year-old daughter?

Hello Renae,
I'm glad you joined. I will looking forward to more of you postings.
I have 3 sons and 4 grandchildren.
I all ready told my one son I'm still his father and his children grandfather. And if I do go all the way in my transition that is what I still want them to call me and I don't care what others think. :)
Just my 2 cents.
Welcome to Susan's,
Jillieann

We are all different but have or are going through similar issues and that is what makes it so interesting.
Again I'm glad you joined.
