Susan's Place Transgender Resources

So I was just getting to start transitioning at work. Had full support of staff and everything. And found out yesterday rhat I am being let go at the end of the month. So now having to start from scratch on everything. Soooo.... wonderful community. I am trying to find work at trans friendly local jobs and transplant fields since I have been working in television. I have yet to start laser hair removal, was looking at starting it next month, but now all steps forward I feel I may need to hold off on until I have work. But I don't wqnt to go back to hiding myself. Should I just bite the bullit, pull up my lefgings and just go full time with heavy concealor and wigs and say ->-bleeped-<- it? Still kind of reeling from the work news. I know there has been a lot of adcice in the past. But idk what to do. I do know that here in KC transgender is protected from discrimination in any foem. But I really feel like I am at the bottom now. My wife is totally supportive and held mr as I cried and appologized for loosing my good paying job. Sorry so rambly. Anyways, any words of advice on how ro handle this would be greatly welcomed. I hope all my sisters are doing better than me right now. ♥♡♥♡♥♡

Sorry I don't have any advice, just sympathy.

Did they give you any real reason why they fired you? Or just some made up BS. My advice would be very, very careful and plan things out. Go to your local re-employment office and they should be able to assist you. Just tell them your situation and they should be more than will to help. I used to work at one and my job was to help veterans get back to work. Those that succeeded, are those who actually tried and took the advice given. And believe it or not, those who were obviously milking the unemployment system and were coming in just for the "check box", never found work. Moral of the story is all you need to do is try, not do anything too hasty that you might regret, and the rest will fall into place. Best of luck to you.

Thank you. Since I was a temp. They still had my position open for people to apply to. Soooo, one of the applicants had more experience then me so even though I am already here they went with that person. Fun stuff. In the two days since they told me I was leaving. I have spent all of my off work hrs with my face in the computer applying for work in the area. All I can do is flood every job I am qualified for and hope for the best.
