Title: Pre Screening for Top Surgery??

Hey guys, I just got out of a frustration family therapy session. My "rushing in" to top surgery was brought up. My parent's asked if I had any pre surgery tests done to ensure I was a good candidate for surgery. (chest x-ray, blood work, etc.)
I consulted with 2 different doctors for top surgery and none of them mentioned any sort of pre-screening tests. My top surgery is in less than a week and suddenly I am wondering if I AM being irrational? Is this a red flag? Or are pre-surgery tests just not a concern for these types of surgeries? I've had oral surgery twice before and no one ever brought up pre-surgery tests then...
Anyway, I am trying not to freak out now with top surgery in 6 days (Dr. Steinwald at Lake Forest Plastics IL.) If I have to re-schedule for tests I feel like it'd be christmas not coming at this point. Obviously if this is a major concern it needs to be dealt with though.
Thoughts?

I have to have pre surgery testing prior to my top surgery but I am much older than you. I would imagine since your young he will run the labs and such just before the surgery to make sure all is well. You in such a low risk range I would imagine that it's typical to run the labs just before your surgery

Blood work and a general exam is the only thing I know that is usually required.
But never heard anything about x-rays.
From your previous posts you seem to be in a race against who knows what.
Remember the chest that doctor gives you, will be there for LIFE.
So I hope you took your time before picking him.
Chill and breath dude.
Transition is not a race.

I just called their office and they said most testing is for people over 40.
I saw my primary doctor last week about a strained muscle and mentioned that I was going in for surgery. He gave my chest another listen and checked limbs for swelling. He is a really careful doctor (doesn't like to prescribe pills etc.) I think he would've said something if I needed blood work or some tests.
It was just the first I heard of anything about tests and I wanted to make sure I wasn't neglecting my health. Thank you for your replies.
I am very confident in this doctor, his results look great and I've only heard good things about him from the trans community in (regards to sensitivity and recovery etc.)
I've wanted to transition for years and a pile of money fell into my lap (from the settlement of a personal injury claim.) So yeah. You'd better bet I am racing! I have been waiting and waiting and the flood gates have finally opened! :D (Not to mention the ability to transition is going to make the medical junk I went through during that claim worth it!)
Besides. I'm eccentric. That's just how I roll. ;)

Oh well if you've been doing your research for years, that's not rushing :P
I thought from reading other posts, that you just took any random doc close to you.
Well have fun getting surgery lucky bastard.

I didn't have any specific tests or x-rays before top surgery, but my primary doc does blood work every year. No problems.
