Well here in Australia it's already Easter, everything is closed. Even the casino here in Brisbane shuts it's bars till Friday midnight..
I have wondered about eggs and the rabbit, doesn't make sense ! I know the egg represents new life but unless the catholic church wants us to procreate like rabbits....? I don't see the relationship...LOL
Have a great easter to all xo

Well, as I understand it, the medieval church took an "Embrace, Extend, Extinguish" approach to many existing pagan traditions. However, the extinguish part never fully caught on with the laity. As a result, many of our holidays retain idiosyncrasies from earlier pagan traditions that have nothing to do with the holiday's stated christian purpose. See also: Christmas, Halloween

Anyway, Happy Easter.

If you don't want to read the whole article, at least skip down to "Alleged indestructibility"

I'll be celebrating Easter at my UU church after service.  "Celebrating" with biological extended family is essentially impossible, so that's out.
