Never was a strong Led Zeppelin fan but the song "All My Love" is special.

There's a really moving instrumental about two minutes in that makes me feel like something exciting and mystical is happening. The first words after the instrumental are:

Quote"Yours is the cloth, mine is the hand that sews time his is the force that lies within".

These words really haunt me. I think it's a mystical description of the gender roles involved in conceiving and gestating a child. The woman is the cloth, the man is the hand and the force within is the (male) child. Like a lot of other MtFs, I'm just in awe of the miracle of creating a human being. Nothing I do day to day compares to it. I'm a wee bit dysphoric that I'll never experience the female role, but I still feel enormously privileged to have twice been a part of it.

The next words are:

Quote"Ours is the fire, all the warmth we can find. He is a feather in the wind."

I think this refers to taking care of the child and how fragile he is. The guy who wrote the song had a 5-year-old son who died of a stomach illness.

Sorry for the bump, but play me anything from "The Wall" and i'll cry.

1. Because i noticed much earlier that i have built a metaphorical wall around myself and my feelings just like (the main character) Pink in "The Wall". It's called my "depression album" for a reason. I tend not to listen to it anymore.

There are some songs where when i heard them the first time, i quietly repeated particularly poignant lyrics after i've heard them.

Like:

"When will those clouds all disappear" (Angie - The Rolling Stones)
"And if the dam breaks open many years too soon, i'll see you on the dark side of the moon" (Eclipse - Pink Floyd)
