Title: Woman or man?
Post by: zeekoe on April 05, 2013, 07:46:26 AM
Hi,

Should I consider NOT taking Testosterone? Because I LOVE singing!
I am not dysphoric about my voice, in fact I like my singing voice
So, ....

But I really want surgeries, so I guess I do need Testerone. Would it still sound good?

My voice now sounds like this:

Edit: if you want to hear me singing please PM me.

Maybe I shold just consider staying a woman, because I LOVE music so much, it's just I don't like my body, I'm sort of between genders but yet I hate my female body.. I'm so mixed up. But I am really wondering what I should do, I'm a good looking female, so I might stay this way,  and according to singing it's the best thing in life, but It's sad..Because I would never like my body tried to put it aside but it comes back time to time the horrible feeling....But sometimes I can live with the fact that I'm a woman, because people like how I look like, I like to be accepted! But I am really not feeling woman from the inside, so I am just putting on a act for the world..

I am really wondering What I will do and am getting really mixed up...Woman or Male. If I could be just both >_<

Hi Zeekoe,

Hummmmm. It is a dilemma isn't it? To do or not to do;that is the question.

Try singing in a lower key. On average about 3 tones lower, and see what you think. Could you live with that voice?

Maybe it's time to seek a gender therapist who can help guide you through the labyrinth of issues you are confronted with. Maybe then you'll find your answers.

Sure acceptance is essential to a good lifestyle, however if you are acting a part that is not the real you; then it's time for a rethink. Authenticity and integrity are keystones to your real inner heath and mental wellbeing.

Be safe, well and happy
Lotsa huggs
Catherine

I don't know if this is relevant or not but when I was younger, before my voice changed, I could sing.  After puberty I couldn't sing the same, in fact I can't sing for crap.
