Title: Tips for HRT Letter
Post by: Cassie 4 Ever!!! on April 17, 2013, 08:21:04 PM
Hello Everyone,

I would like to hear from all of you about your past experiences, and I would like some advice. I do want to make clear that I have no intention of lying, or miss leading my therapist. All I want are some honest tips.

I would like to know what I can do to try to get the letter I need, in order to begin my HRT. Are there things that I should say, or emphasize more, should I be direct and tell her, "hey, I want my letter", or should I just let the therapist decide when the right time is? My therapist even said on my first session that I share a lot of the characteristics of a trans-woman. Should I just ask her how long it will take? any comments are welcome. I know, I must be patient, but I so don't want to wait to get started with HRT.

Thank you,

Kasihnya

Being direct and honest will help you the most. Even if your therapist doesn't feel you're ready, it'll give both of you something to work toward. It won't be beneficial for you to be in therapy if you feel the only reason you're there is to battle or wait out your therapist.  :)

Best advice for anything in therapy is just to be honest. So if you're really feeling like it's time to start HRT, just be honest about it. Have a talk about it, and see what she thinks.
