Title: Acne after spiro?
Post by: Joanna Dark on May 01, 2013, 12:59:49 PM
Has anyone else had any problems with acne after starting spiro or having your dose increased? I recently had my spiro increased four-fold. A week after, I brokeout and my skin's general aesthetics decreased. My mom gives me her Retin-A, so I'm hoping that helps but it dries out the skin. I have to be careful as it's powerful stuff.

Umm, all that comes to mind is: don't forget, spiro is a weak androgen itself!

I kinda think the androgen is why I'm getting them. But my T levels feel like they should be incredibly low now as opposed two weeks ago. I guess I shouldn't complain as my skin is a million times better now.

It could be the estrogen..

I usually have  week or two of acne after I increase that.

I don't think it's the E as I have been on a normal dose of E for almost 11 weeks and my face cleared up big time. But a week after I started regular dose spiro (I was on a low dose), I brokeout. It'll obviously happen from time to time but I'm talking about more of a breakout opposed to occasional acne.
