"If normal is a family that has a mom and a dad and two kids and a white picket fence, then no, I don't live in a normal family,'' Zach Boylan told Smith. "But if a normal family is one where everyone treats each other as equals and with love, then yeah, I live in a normal family."

It was a very heartwarming story and I understand how the wife in the picture can be terribly shocked and hurt, but the difference comes when the marriage partners deal with the question of how deep is the love for one another and how really meaningful were the marriage vows in truth. There are men who have walked away from their marriage because their spouse was faced with a double mastectomy or a complete hysterectomy and you think to yourself, "Oh how evil!" There there is the other husband who will love and care for his spouse long after the light of recognition has gone from her eyes, when she can no longer walk, talk or care for her most intimate needs, yet he is there for her. Likewise, we see women who marry and later find that things are not as they seemed, but the real heartfelt love and commitment is the binder that holds them together, this is how it should be and what I find remarkable and praiseworthy. I'm going on 44 years with my wife this June, she's not a lesbian either, there were some hard adjustments but we never looked back!
