"If you ask Billy Porter, one of the lead actors in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots, what the show's about, he's got a succinct answer: "It's about two people who have daddy issues," Porter says. "And one of them just happens to wear a dress." " Kinky Boots is a 2006 film based on a true story of a struggling owner of a shoe factory who partners up with a drag queen to make sexy boots for male-sized feet.

Kinky Boots is a new musical who's script is written by Harvey Fierstein (who wrote the musical version of La Cage aux Folles and music written by Cyndi Lauper.

Apparently, it just recently started showing on Broadway. I love Cyndi Lauper, and she's done a lot of work with the LGBT community, so I hope it's not a show that caters to stereotypes.

I watched the movie a few years ago, thought it was nicely done and humorous without being offensive to trans people.
