Transgender women. Transgender men. Sex-changers. Body-swappers. Wherever you go, these days, whichever way you turn, you just can't seem to get away from them.

Which must be a bit worrying if you consider yourself to be a regular sort of person. Men are men: women are women. You can't change that. So why won't these transsexuals — 'trannies', you might even whisper quietly — just keep their weird lifestyles to themselves?

You might be surprised at how much the transgender community would agree with you. Because being trans (not a '->-bleeped-<-', please — that's just rude) has far less to do with sex swaps or changes or striving to be a 'real' anything than you might imagine.
