I'm no expert, but I think once they're removed, they're gone. T would help make your chest and body look more masculine though.

I had top surgery after a few weeks or so on T. I don't think it matters. They remove the breast tissue. I was off T for probably 5 months or so late last year. Nothing happened.

I started hormones after because I didn't want to be a guy with boobs. They were what bothered me most, and just had to go. I'd rather have been a girl without boobs for 6 months/a year than a guy with them.
Also, when you think about it cismen start out with a clean slate at puberty (aka no boobs). I figured why not go the same route. Break it down before building on top of it again. So to speak....
It made the transition super easy. I'd do it again the same way. (and my surgery results look awesome.)

If you are very concerned about aesthetics, you might want to go on T first and see how your pecs develop. Then the surgeon might do a better job of sculpting your chest. But I dunno--guys go both ways and even in between. I was on T for only a few months--under five months--when I had top surgery.
I can't imagine that you would have any problems with regrowth unless the surgeon leaves too much tissue behind and you go on some kind of uber-estrogen kick, which I suspect you are not about to do.
Some surgeons do ask you to suspend T use for a period before the surgery. If you are not on T yet, you won't have to worry about that. I suppose that's one advantage to starting T afterward.

I always worried about this. I will be getting top surgery In three years. I wont be taking T, Not for any medical reasons but because I'm feminine, I don't like most of the T effects. :-\
I'm almost certain It doesn't grow back, It met many people who have had top surgery and not been on T for a few months and nothing happened. ;D

Ryan Cassata has never taken T and he had top surgery last January. I've never heard of his chest growing back, but I don't particularly like the guy so never paid that much attention.

Off Topic: Aw, Why don't you like Ryan?
Yeah, He hasn't mentioned anything like that so, I'm pretty sure It doesn't grow back.

His song "hands of hate" makes me feel very uncomfortable. There's not enough emotion in there to me, or the right emotion, and comes across as being nothing more than a marketing gimmick. I'm sure he's more decent than that, but I can't shake my initial feeling. And dreadlocks on white kids...

Ah, Yeah I get that feeling as well. He can be a bit that way but It somewhat decent.
Haha, I think white people can pull of dreadlocks but It's rare. Usually those beach surfer dudes can.

It's the cultural appropriation of the dreadlocks which bothers me, and that he has no clue judging from some of his comments.
Anyway, I can see this spiralling off topic. His chest never regrew, and anyway, people who have masectomies after cancer don't tend to regrow their chest, and the majority of those people are running on an estrogen hormone system. It would be something to fully check out with your doctor though if you're considering not being on T for a long time afterwards.

I was about to say...a lot of women would be thrilled to have regrowth, but it just doesn't happen.
