Monica Roberts
After spending a busy period on the cyberseas nuking trolls, had to give the hardworking crew of the USS Monica a long liberty call.
But since ignorance in my comment sections never sleeps, finally had to send them out on a another cybercriuse to drop another 50 megatons of knowledge on the latest ignorant fool that let their mouth overload their behinds on my blog..
Today's fool whose ignorance got caught in my spam filter is someone who calls himself Dirty D, who had something transphobic to say about the initial post I wrote concerning the Damian Garcia situation
"If this freak does not like the rules, he/she IT can go to a freakshow ->-bleeped-<- school somewhere else. I am so sick of all you LGBT trying to change the rules with every organization to match your own sick ways. Go start your own schools and welcome all the freaks you want instead of trying to change regular society school.."

An interesting article, and I completely sympathize with the student, Damian Garcia.
But what is troubling about Monica Roberts, at times, is she gets carried away with her invective. Case in point:
And conservafool, since when is being treated with dignity and respect 'changing society?'. You need to seriously turn off the FOX Noise before you lose what little brain cells you have left, if you had any at all.
Your cisprivilege filled conservarant is a perfect example of why the Student Non Discrimination Act needs to pass and there needs to be NO exemptions for private or parochial schools in this legislation since the Roman Catholic Church and other private schools are hell bent on discrimination against TBLG students.
There was nothing in the quotation from "Dirty D" to suggest s/he was a "conservative." Or listens to Fox News (though it is the most popular cable news network). Indeed, I am a "conservative" who believes in equal rights and equal opportunity.
And though the proposed Student Non-Discrimination Act is a good idea, the idea that it could be applied to a parochial school is likely unconstitutional. If a private school is not receiving any public money, then it is largely beyond the reach of regulation.
"Twice in 2010, school children were denied admission to Catholic schools because their parents were lesbians. In the Boston, Massachusetts case, one of the parents was told by a priest that marriage should be between a man and woman, as taught by the Catholic Church. The student wasn't enrolled, but the Archdiocese of Boston Superintendent of Schools offered to help find him another school.
In Boulder, Colorado, a student's enrollment was revoked after it was learned his parents were lesbians. The parents' lifestyle was in "open discord" with the teachings of the Catholic church, according to the Archdiocese of Denver....
(A)bsent federal funding, private schools don't have to admit students who follow a different religion or have a physical or mental disability. As a practical matter, though, it's not uncommon for private schools to accept these students. They may charge extra tuition for students of a different religion." - From "Can Private Schools Discriminate against Students? "
The solution there is not to give your business to religious schools.
I understand the outrage, but I don't believe is fighting hatred with more hatred. Shame on Monica Roberts.

Well knowing Damian a bit (in the same support group), I wouldn't think he'd be happy with such stuff. He's a very smart, quiet kid.

I admire that he took a principled stand, and decided not to attend the graduation.

This sort of stuff in unnecessary and counter-productive.
Your words define you and reveal much more about you than any photo can. Especially on the Internet where there's nothing else usually to distract people from what you are writing or saying.
By all means respond to ignorance with information. But responding to hate with hate is a good way of losing your argument or struggle.
Sometimes you can win an argument simply by refusing to respond.

there are a few trans bloggers that have steadily made themselves somewhat irrelevant with their constant attacks and ranting. I don't think they are ever going to learn.

Yeah he made his opinion public and then didn't complain about it. I don't know if you saw my other post about it, but they are holding a special "Lavender" graduation at the LBGT center at the University of New Mexico for kids who are in some way or other unable or unwilling to go to the their own graduations. He's going to be the speaker. I think it is a very cool thing they are doing with this.

Although Transgriot can be very vocal and very aggressive in response to attacks on her and the trans community, she still has a kind heart. I've read many of her posts and find her to be a strong, yet sweet individual and I'm happy she's standing with us, and standing up for us.
Trans*people make up just 0.3% of the population. We need allies, not more enemies.
There are plenty of "conservative" people who believe in fundamental human rights, such as the right of association, and the right to control your own body, and the freedom to be yourself.

How is that a troll?
The bigot was quite geniune in his comment so he's not a troll. This kind of thing gives trolls a bad name.

I wasn't saying that I agree with what she said. I'm just happy she's with us, even if she sometimes can be a bit much, I still believe in the big picture she does more good than harm.
