Dear all,
I have booked my SRS with dr Suporn for November the 20th. It would be lovely to get in touch with some post-op Suporn girls and sharing their experience.
Many thanks,

Many thanx for your reactions.
I am sorry for my late reply but I had three weeks ago my 2nd FFS with a breast enlangement. The recovery took a while.
I am planning to go back to work after 2 months of my SRS with dr Suporn but I am still struggling for the dilatation roster. I was told you ought to dilate three times a day the first three months post SRS. It means if you dilate in the morning, you should repeat it back in the afternoon and not during lunch time?

Dr Suporn's most simple instruction was: if it gets harder, dilate more often, if it is easier, you can go easier. I was dilating 2 times a day for six months, never three times. I went off the largest size for a few months when it got really hard, in months 2, 3 and 4, only using the small and the medium to full depth, and didn't touch the big one at all. Then, around six or seven months on, I tried the big one, and after only three or four sessions, got that one going again. Now ten months in, I only dilate once every few days, and have no issues.

I will stay in Chonburi for 6 weeks all alone. I am a bit worried I won't be able to 'fill' my time. Normally I read lots of books but with the limited weight of luggage allowed, I won't be able to carry enough to survive these six weeks. An eReader may be the solution but I hate reading from a screen. Perhaps I am just old-fashioned for this kind of stuff.
Sometimes I feel like a real freak, I mean 'freaking out' for everything because of the tension having my SRS in the near future. I count off daily, I am really scared of what will come, just double checking everything all the time. I hope I wouldn't be that freaky as I was for my FFS and BA but I've got a similar feeling at the moment.
Although I am quite anxious about the surgery, I am really longing for it as it will be the end of this goddamned transition.

Don't worry! :)
There will be others there. Just go to breakfast and don't be afraid to make friends. Send the other girls notes in the hospital while you are there - reach out! People will befriend you.
Make sure you have a computer with you so you can post to this forum and listen to music and that sort of thing. If you like to read bring a book. In reality after surgery only the first couple weeks is full of complete rest, after that you can make your way across the street and shop a little or go out to eat with your new friends. And you'll be spending three hours a day dilating - so there's plenty to do :)
DONT WORRY!! :)

If you're alone, making friends is extra important.... my lovely wife helped out a few other girls run some errands after their surgery, because it is major surgery and a lot of us weren't in any mood to get out of bed for any length of time. So you might be a lucky one, running around a week later, or you might be one like me, who is catheterized and lays around in bed 23 hours a day for four weeks. I seriously couldn't sit or stand upright for more than twenty minutes at a time for many weeks, and spent the rest of the time laying on my back in bed, dilating or watching cnn or browsing or all three at once. lulz  A laptop will be ESSENTIAL. (Sadly, out of an otherwise excellent and thoughtful experience, wifi at the chon inter is NOT free. Oh well....) On a side note, several of us noticed those girls who really got on their feet and were in the markets, etc, very soon after the surgery, seemed to get more minor complications than ones who gave themselves rest. So maybe even if you feel like you can power through it, maybe you shouldn't. Something to think about...

Ah the wifi at the hotel is free if you book for at least 27 days straight. My parents got two login codes for free because of that. I didn't because i checked out for the duration of my hospital stay. had 2 nights, pause, and then 17. This means for the first chunk i'd have to pay full price internet and for the second chunk i think it would be half off. With 6 weeks you should get the package with the free internet.
You'll never feel alone. I haven't been out much (stuck in the hospital :P), but from my experience before and from what my parents tell me, you keep meeting wonderful people and make good friends. Of course that won't happen at the hospital, but as i mentioned you'll always have the really nice staff around you (sometimes even a bit too often) and may get visits from other women waiting for their surgery and even have people who are accompanying someone else visit you. Everyone forms strong bonds, even people who are just accompanying. I was a bit shy about talking to everyone else, but as soon as i got to the clinic i met so many nice people and started to immediately feel at home. The ones who've been here longer will do everything to make you feel safe and welcome and i'm really glad for it.
Now i'm just reading most of the time and dozing off to music. I don't like eBook readers either, but it probably would have been the best for this trip. I was however able to bring several books with me, because i didn't bring too much stuff in my luggage (and brought the heaviest one with me in the hand luggage).
Even though i'm feeling really fit (walked today, no problems, just my sense of balance was a bit off) i'm as GendrKweer suggests trying to rest next week. I'll probably stay in my room at first and later i'll go to the lobby at most. Well probably to the door so i can get some outside air for once.

I've got another query: where would you keep your dilators when travelling back home because airline companies can sometimes lose your luggage. Keeping dilators in your hand luggage could be a solution?
Any thoughts?

I personally brought the travel dilator with me and the glass ones in luggage. That way in case one got lost I'd have the other. :)

I drove back from GRS, so it wasn't an issue then, but Brassard gave me an actual letter stating that it was a medical device and I couldn't be separated from it. When I went on a business trip six months later, I brought that letter and put a dilator in my carry-on (but made sure it was one I could "afford" to lose, one of the smaller ones I was about to discontinue anyway).
It was kind of anticlimactic. Nobody in the TSA noticed/said anything either way. :)

As someone with GRS still far on the horizon, what is Suporn charging these days? Getting doctors to quote prices seems to be like pulling teeth.

Wow, that's a refreshing change from the US doctors I've contacted. They always came back with something along the lines of "drive halfway across the country, put down $200 and THEN we'll give you a price"

Yeah, they are good about giving you all the prices and what to expect up front. Just ask them for info about the surgery and they email you a whole packet describing everything. I don't know what his current prices are and it also is affected by the exchange rate. I'm fortunate my insurance paid for it.

Anyway, e-mail the clinic you'll get very detailed reply. I am very happy with the communication with Sophie, dr suporn 's secretary.

To be honest I'd just get home as soon as possible. People try to dilate on the way home and all that but I didn't. I went for 28 hours without dilating. I got home, made myself a nice dinner, took a hot shower, relaxed a little and then finally did dilation 28 hours after my last session. Yes, it took a little longer to get to depth but I didn't a single millimeter. Honestly I think it would be more a hassle to get into a hotel, sleep, and then continue the rest of the journey than to just come all the way home. I had a super long flight too.

Well, my flight from door to door was only about 20 hours, but then I had 3 hours layover in Taipai, and you count the time getting to and from the airport, then a couple hours to make dinner and take a shower and you get to 28 :)
The point is that there's a reason the clinic keeps saying "don't worry" about the flight home, because it's true. :) My flight home was definitely not comfortable, but I survived and so did my vagina.

Don't be nervous... easier said than done, I know, but as a Suporn daughter, I can tell you they treat you like family, and care for you very thoughtfully. You'll have more than enough painkillers given you as you need them, and his complication rate seems very very low. You're in as good hands as you can be, and when you wake up, you will be elated. Prolly also pukey, freezing cold, or dizzy (haha), but elated. :)

I still have to sit out 45 days before getting my SRS. I am gradually getting more and more nervous as the big moment is approaching. It is pretty hard to wait for another 6 weeks. I don't know how others did survive the waiting time but obviously they did.
I feel it is devouring me and I am tired to wait.

oh you're on exactly the same schedule as me! cool. Everything will be fine, you'll see!
Oh and say hi to everyone from Joana, if they even remember me :P. Oh and they might like to know that i've went from my initial 14.5cm to almost 18cm! And pet the cat for me! And how's the weather in November? oh and try to lie on your sides often and don't overdo it with the morphine! And the food from mezzo is better, don't forget about it like i did! oh and at the hotel eat the chocolate souffle, it's sooo great.
Anyway, the night before surgery i was super worried and nervous and there was no need to. You're finally there, the wait is over.

I felt bored the day before the surgery too and I felt Zen the night before the surgery. Good luck tomorrow. Enjoy the drugs :)

Pretty nice lady, the anaesthesist, very friendly and funny.
The drawings were terrible, I messed up the first one, drawing a person. Consequently, telling a story about this person was even more horrible. Happy this is behind me.
I just hope I can have a nice sleep tonight. I am not nervous, rather impatient.

Dear all,
Survived my first night post-op. I am so happy at the moment, no lump between my legs anymore, but something flat. Jib spent the the night with me, she was very helpful.
The urinary catheter is quite annoying, but otherwise, just feeling great. I'd never have thought this.
Dr Suporn came around this morning and he was so sweet and compassionate.

I am doing pretty well, just 14 days post-op, did my first dynamic dilation tonight, one of the inner labia has released a bit (5mm), it is hardly to see but suporn will stitch it before my departure.
Wounds are healing well, no bleedings, sometimes a hypersensate clitoris. Urination direction is still a problem. The staff is fab and very helpfull. I am so glad to have chosen Suporn for my SRS.
Being a vegetarian is here a real struggle in the hotel.

That sounds great!
Yeah urination direction doesn't always work out. It does get better, but it's weird suddenly having no control of where it goes.
Oh, that's true. As a vegetarian you don't have a big selection of stuff you can eat. Have you tried eating at the restaurant with the red chairs by the clinic? It's only open in the evening. They might have something? I honestly don't know.

Aey and Jib are fab! I had this morning the 'dynamic dilation class' which was very disappointing.

Hang in there Laura! I hope you're able to move around a bit and see the other girls at breakfast. That really helped me a lot being able to do that. But I do remember the pain too. Dynamic took me a while to get used to, but some girls switch to it much more easily. You'll be home soon!

How odd...i really liked starting dynamic dilation.. sort of how when you hurt yourself a bit, massaging it can take your mind off it or something? Just leaving it in there was much oogier for me than push-hold-swirl push-hold-swirl....

Today, we've been to the beach house, visited a chinese temple and saw some stobburn monkeys on the road.
It was a nice to have a kind of day off! Getting tired of the hotel and certainly the food. However being back in my hotel room, I realised that even this small trip has exhausted me a lot. Perhaps I should move more instead of posting crappy messages on FB. ;-)
Dynamic dilation is going fine, even with the large dilator. It is more relaxing than the static one.
Moving around is improving but still sore. I try to catch up with some girls at breakfast and dinner but sitting on this tyre-pillow for longer than 30 minutes remains sometimes very painful. I only hope I will be able to cross to the busy road by bridge within a few days so I can try some other restaurants. I am desperately seeking proper and decent food.

mhm over the bridge i think i mainly ate KFC and Pizza. Oh and Ice Cream! The buffet thing was interesting too, but i was only once there.
Yeeah the beachtrip is cool!
Moving around is definitely good for you, since it gets your circulation going and you get fresh air, but do also listen to your body. Going over the bridge should be fine though.

Today is my 3 year anniversary. Dec. 7, 2010. I felt so much love and positive energy carrying
me through that day.
I miss Chonburi, so many things about my time there. From the smallest to the biggest.
The world just felt so different, so big. Standing on that bridge looking off into the distance.
Best wishes on your journey. I wish I was there again.

Gendrkweer, if you don't mind me asking what was the nature of your revision and what was living with it like before you went back? For some reason, that is one of the things I'm concerned about.

No problem, Zoey.. Immediately following surgery, as you may or may not know, things swell a bunch and only go down slowly, as blood vessels and lymph channels rebuild and drain the area. This can take many months, and is common in all cosmetic surgery. So anyway, my inner labia de-swelled lol in four quadrants for some reason, upper left and right, and lower left and right. One quadrant didn't go down at the same rate as the others, due in Dr Suporn's opinion to a circumcision scar (which seemed logical, as I did have scarring from that, which had been done at an older than usual age). Just before I left Chonburi, he took out some material from that quadrant, and I went home (ie one revision). Over the next year, everything went down normally, but that once larger labia quadrant never reduced as much as the other side. So I had a centimeter longer inner labia on one side. I know many cisgirls can have similar problems, but it did affect the appearance, the pee stream, and my confidence, so since I get free revisions, when I wanted to go back to Thailand anyway, I told Sophie I wanted that trimmed down, and they booked it and did it without question. It was done in his office, under local, it took about an hour, and I stayed in Chonburi for 10 days. All in all, easy as can be. They do take care of their patients. You have to usually wait a year for cosmetic revisions just to make sure all swelling has gone away by then, and pay the hotel and flight. However, if you can work a little vacation in first, then the deal ain't so bad... ;D
