For pre-op and non-op girls, do you ever pee standing up?

When dressed as a lady & out, whether wearing pants, skirt or dress, in women's washroom cubicles, never stand up. Even in cis guy mode I prefer to sit down in a cubicle, same when I am at home.

I usually just stand up for convenience, now if I was full time I would probably be sitting 100% of the time, unless I encountered a particularly nasty bathroom. All in all, it doesn't bother me either way, it's just that if I was using the ladies bathroom I'd feel more comfortable sitting.

I normally sit, but I've relented once. The only place to go was a dark, unlit port-a-potty at night, I was not well-versed in the hover-over-the-seat method, and I was not about to sit upon who knows what I couldn't see on the seat. I privately sacrificed my gender identity to avoid contact butt germs. The shame! :embarrassed:

Yeah pretty much I do my best to sit but sometimes I just have to cave to the convenience.

Only in horribly dirty public restrooms. And urinals are right out. Never liked them even when I wasn't visibly between sexes.

Most of the time I sit, even before transition my whole life the majority of time I sat down. However occasionally I still do, but only at home. Sometimes when I first get up in the morning I pee standing up.
Medically speaking, when you have a penis you void your bladder better by standing up. The long urethra that goes with a penis ,versus the rather short straight urethra a vagina has, just voids more effectively standing up. Try peeing sitting down and then stand up and see if you can get a little more out, usually I can.

Also it doesn't make you any less trans to pee standing up if that is what you prefer. Just wanted to throw that out since I get the "Am I trans enough?" vibe from this thread.

Exactly my thoughts. Why sit in filth if it could be avoided? Sure, I always sit down when I can and it's clean. But some public bathrooms..... eh. And urinals are probably one the most disgusting inventions known to mankind.

Standing up unless I'm also pooping :3
Convenient, fast, efficient. Unless i used a female restroom (haven't dared yet) I'll be standing.

The first option. Can you pee standing up with a vagina, with no STP? Nope. Every other (natal) female out there goes sitting down, as do I 100% of the time. That, and so I don't have to see that little bugger of depression when I go. Heck, for awhile, I used to wipe after I went too, regardless of bodily function, so I would have the mental reassurance that my area down there was right. Sigh, I can't wait until this question isn't an option one day. :(
Urinals are gross, too, I've hated those my whole life, ick. I went in one like once in my life, 9 years ago, or I would have missed the school bus to go back home that day. I felt so wrong doing it, too, it was like, "Errr, I know I have to go but, eww, this is wrong, think about something else. Get this done as soon as possible."
Edited for clarity, to add the word natal. Thanks for a good point below me, Jennifer!

Yes I do and I don't believe it makes me any less of a woman! I don't always, I mean I sit in women's public restrooms that have stalls and at home when I feel like it, but if it is a single person public restroom with a door or a port a pottie I stand. Also when I'm at work, it sucks taking off and putting back on all that police gear just to pee! Sometimes I have to respond to a call midstream, so its just easier to zip up and go! Other wise I'd have to pull my pants up, tuck in my shirt, buckle my belt, put on my duty belt, then place and snap on my six belt keepers! :police: Peoples lives could be at stake here while I'm wasting time with my pants down! I also don't have bottom dyshoria so that might also be a factor.
In response to the reply above mine, I am not every other woman, I am just me and technically yes you can pee standing up with a vagina and no STP , it makes a mess though! Every other woman sits to pee is not accurate as you see from mine and others posts here, some women stand, its just the majority sit!

Not entirely true. I know several natal women who can stand to pee - unaided. In fact, one stole my heart many years ago when she came and stood next to me at a urinal - she was most certainly a natal female. ;)

Sit or squat almost all the time, I have to clean my own bath room and hate dribbles all over the floor.Tp works to catch the drips when you stand up.Only time it comes in handy is out in the boat
then its an Easter egg hunt to find it.

Sit always other than public toilets, and it would have to be pretty dirty!
I always felt weird standing, especially at a urinal... (God I hate those things! I don't want to see guys doing that!)
Camping though? yea, that might be a different story, the word "convenient" doesn't even come close to not needing to squat.

I'm one of the few standers. If I am in girl mode, I will sit. When I am in guy mode, I just find the nearest tree and whip it out and whiz since most of the time I am outside and or in the woods. I am contributing to my share of using water by sending it back to nature to replenish though evaporation. ;)

Quote from: Alainaluvsu on June 05, 2013, 09:09:29 AMThat would feel awful. My father tried to teach me when I was a child, and I tried it maybe 3-4 times when he "forced" me. It made anything from a few drops sprinkling elsewhere to a big puddle next to the toilet along with completely wet pants. I never saw the point and completely refused to do it from then on.
No. Hell no!
Even when I was in the Cadets and we were out on survival, when I really really needed to go and our "wood toilet" (two big branches on trees and we did our stuff in a little hole) wasn't built yet, I just found a spot far away, lowered my pants to my knees (I think?) and crouched awkwardly. Someone sorta saw me. Excuse? Malformation. Not many questions asked. :p
Yeah, no, I never saw the point of peeing standing. It feels humiliating ("look, toilet, how do you like my thing proudly dropping its stuff into you from above?"), it's a pain and it takes a lot longer, not to mention it's really uncomfortable to wipe. And it's risky. Yeah, no, I'll never understand it.
If I ran into a very nasty public bathroom, either I held it in, either I picked the least dirty one and I cleaned the pee up with toilet paper and, in extreme cases, used the hand sanitizer in my purse to finish the job up. (Yeah, I've been carrying a sort of purse for over two years. Problem? :p) Sitting in pee is yucky, but I'm not afraid of butt germs. It's not like any amount of contact between my butt and a surface full of germs can infect me. And anyway, germs aren't scary in general. In my life I've found that when I was the least sick was when I lived with a dirty roommate and 3-4 animals, and microbes worked really hard at training my immune system on a daily basis. :p
Not to mention that most cell phones, coins, keyboards, etc. are probably more full of germs than any toilet. You know, people don't carry much germs around their butts, and pee, however yucky, is sterile.

It depends. I sit now that I am transitioning. But sometimes it is hard to pee sitting down. MAABs weren't made that way. Before transition, I would sit occasionally. When I was with my ex I sat. But basically most of my life I have stood and it didn't bother me. I think if you sat to pee your whole life that would def be a form of gender and genital dysphoria that manifested itself at an early age, fitting the narrative. (there is a lot of anti-narrative sentiment on this board and it sometimes upsets me because I kinda fit it and I can't help it). I was prob forced to stand by my mom with the threat of her withholding her love if I disobeyed. But I think standing or sitting is a preference. Quite frankly, it's hard to stand at a urinal as i am not blessed as a man. I don't think I reached Tanner V.

For those of you who refuse to stand up, what would you do in a public bathroom if you had no choice. I always hold it in to to the best of my ability, but I've encountered times when I couldn't while in public. The idea of having to sit down on some public seat is one the most disgusting thoughts I can envision. I've seen some horrific bathrooms and I can't imagine sitting down and allowing myself to be infested with those germs. I'll always avoid standing if possible, but sitting on a public toilet is really disgusting to me. Maybe I'm just an ultra germaphobe.

I don't see what the big deal is about germs and public bathrooms. Urine is sterile. If it's on the seat, wipe and dry it with toilet paper. If there's fecal matter, go to the next stall while wondering how someone gets poop on a toilet seat.
Keyboards (http://www.geek.com/news/your-toilet-seat-is-cleaner-than-your-keyboard-549900/) and purses (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2324247/Womens-handbags-contaminated-bacteria-average-toilet.html)(and probably door handles as well) have been shown in studies to have more germs than a toilet seat; I would be more worried about people not washing their hands than the toilet seat. And besides, your immune system needs a little workout now and then to stay in shape! ;)

One of the things I totally love about this site and its incredible members are the diversity of topics
When I came across this thread I didn't believe it!!!!
OMG how do you pee, and with a poll!!!!!
I reckon this should be written up and presented at a scientific meeting!!
The only equivalent I remember was a poll taken at the University I work at.
A student posted a poll about whether people covered the toilet seat with paper before sitting, whether they wiped the seat or if they just went for it.
I remember being surprised by that as well!!!
Hugs People and Thank You

Hmm, I usually try to avoid the public toilet, but if I need to go, then I go and I sit on it. I find it much less disgusting than to drop liquid into liquid from a huge height and necessarily splashing elsewhere; possibly on me. Not to mention germs aren't yucky. You don't see them, smell them or anything, most of the time. And:
-Your cell phone, coins, door handle, keyboard and quite a few other items are probably much more full of germs than any toilet seat.
-Even if you joyously rubbed your butt on the most germy surface ever, it would most probably be without consequences, because contrary to your mouth, eyes and nose, the skin of your butt is hardly a doorway to infect you.
So, yeah, you're too much of a germphobe. :p

Hmm... Was it because it's humuliating for a "guy" to sit to pee, or something? No one's ever given me trouble. Also, tip: if there's people around and you're really embarrassed, just wait longer. Either they'll think you pooped as well, either no one will have been there when you arrived and when you left, so they won't know. Although doing such things has always proven unnecessary for me.

Maybe it's a New York thing, but some public bathrooms leave you no room for improvisation. It's truly horrifying the conditions that some of these bathrooms are in. Even if they are less infested than keyboards, I can't sit on something like that. Who knows what I'll contract. I'll sit at home, but otherwise I have to hold it in or just use what I have. Oh, and I always try to carry around hand sanitizer because of the germs that are spreading onto other things. You should see my family and I go out to eat. We always have a few bottles of sanitizer on the table.

"I don't know what I'll contract", you say. If it's pee, it's disgusting because it stinks and all, but know that pee is by far the most sterile liquid that exits your body (and maybe enters it, too). It might even be more sterile than the water you drink. So just use a big ball of toilet paper and wipe it off the seat. If it's poop or vomit, granted, it's disgusting, but surely there's at least one stall that isn't full of poop or vomit? And if not and you really can't go anywhere, combine a big ball of toilet paper with that hand sanitizer of yours.
And again, you're extremely, extremely unlikely to contract anything, ever, even if you rub your butt really well on every single public toilet you meet. I mean it.
Work on this obsession. :p Being afraid of germs makes you more sick because you private your immune system from its regular training.

I just use soap and water at my sink when ever the mood hits. I NEVER catch a cold or the flu.
I wash my hands before I cook or eat and after I relieve my self - thats it.

I wouldn't advocate not using clean facilities as it improves your immune system! hahaha
There is truth to what you're saying but I'm not about to start not cleaning the loo before using it to build my immune system.
Without getting into a whole public health debate there is a reason for handwashing and not sitting in other peoples' urine. :)
It's kind of like spitting (horrible disgusting habit IMO), people used to do it and well, TB isn't the same problem it used to be, not to mention lots of other things.

there is such a thing as balance, one does not have to go from never touching anything anywhere and always using sanitizer to swimming in filth , the happy medium would be to find a decent ladies room and use it. many can be sat on without causing any sickness, most have no residue on them, the rest only slight dribble, and I have only very rarely once or twice run across some that were really filthy

But yes, a health balance of not sanitising everything with alcohol and not rolling in filth, I think we can all agree on that :)

Absolutely not! Peeing while standing up has been the grossest thing to me since growing up. I 99% of the time in childhood have pee'ed sitting down, and now it is absolutely 100%.
I could never understand how men can grab their junk like that, stretch it out, urinate, shake it a little, put it back into one's pants and walk away. Sometimes even without washing their hands...
Bleh! :icon_blah:

When I was a kid my mom took me to visit one of her friends and her kids, there was a boy my age
I asked where the restroom was and then he walked in and made fun of me for sitting to pee, then he took me out around the back wall of their garage and said "This is how you do it"
He then proceeded to urinate on the wall writing "I love Male name" and then signed his name
I didn't say anything, but this kinda freaked me out

I stand. much more convenient. When in public, I still have to go to the guys, so I stand. If i were ever to use the womens, sit or squat. Can't stand because 1: people can notice feet pointing the wrong direction, and 2: for whatever reason, if you don't pay attn and aim at the side of the bowl, pee coming from that high up makes a much louder noise than when sitting. That'd give you away.

Sometimes I do. Sometimes it's just convenient. Hell, I have a privilege that most girls would kill for, why not take advantage of it. I've become comfortable enough with myself that I can enjoy the privilege. But, most of the time I sit down, only for the simplicity of it. I tuck 24/7, even when I sleep. It's easier to drop my panties and sit, than it is to try to wiggle it out or hold my panties up while I stand. I never stand in public (obviously).

Not exactly the same, but similar, our family used to go visit relatives in the mid-West every summer. My cousin lived in the sticks and had a horse pasture with an electric fence. The neighbor kid talked me into peeing on it. OMFG, I should have known better, that gets you where you live.
I have seen kids doing that in the snow, trying to write stupid things in that way...
I decided to observe myself and basically, I pee sitting down, when I am at home. When at work, I sort of dont want to sit down there... Also, if I would be suddenly caught outdoors with no other options, then I would rather stand and get things done quickly.
By the way, is this thread slowly going towards "Are You trans enough?" or is it just me? :P

I sit when not out in public. It has nothing to do with being perceived as a "shy guy" either because I honestly prefer sitting down. I've done it for years because it feels normal and to avoid cleaning up in case I miss hahaha. The reason that I don't sit in public is that I'm not confident in the cleanliness of men's restrooms. Lots of men do pee standing up in the stalls and it's pretty common to see pee on the seats.

Basically, you shouldn't fear germs more than necessary. As in, don't use the bathroom's doorknob with your hands, and wash your hands when it's appropriate (meals, toilet, etc.), but don't avoid things just because you imagine the bacteria on it. You just have to be reasonable about it.

Just saying this as a fellow person who hates to pee standing. Remember, pee may be disgusting, but it's totally sterile, so remove it and it's gone and forgotten.
Lots of men do pee standing up in the stalls and it's pretty common to see pee on the seats.

I could pull that off no problem, without even feeling like less of a woman!
Well, more woman you! :P I couldn't do that unless I was post-op and to make a point. I worked in Italy in a factory for a year where standing to pee was mandatory. The toilets were holes in the ground. It didn't make the women dysphoric, for some reason.

But I had always found standing just too uncomfortable t_t

Not unless absolutely I have to.
But now, with the level of shrinkage downstairs it's difficult to pee straight even if I wanted to.
Although I always had issues with peeing standing up.

Only when necessary but I prefer sitting down now.
I've also found in public restrooms its a must and you should also try to pretend you're wiping something, as most genetic girls do do that.
I've been clocked a few times for that, well just looked at strangely. Then I remembered that "Oh that's right" I'm "supposed" to be wipping the inside of my imaginary equipment :P hehe
Its a bad male habit I must break

Its 50/50 at home. All depends if im half awake or not, or how often my spiro is making me pee. Lol.
In public, i avoid restrooms atm. Just think they are dirty. Ill hold it.
If awake and concious at home, i sit. If half awake or the middle of he night, i stand but its awkward. Works bathrooms are all unisex as its home healthcare. I stand there, due to clients using the bathroom sitting or peeing on seats. It doesnt feel any less awkward though.

lately I have realy been viewing myself as a woman, I mean i act like a woman (though I always have), but now people treat me like one, hit on me like one, and I have to use the woman's room (sometimes there's pee on the seat, eww), and so I sit to pee 100 percent of the time. Even in the woods I squat. I was sleeping with my BF the other night and we were at his friends' house in the guest room and I had a bottle, and apparently I squat to pee when drunk as well. He said he woke up and saw me sqauatting and peeing and he thought I got it all over the floor but it was only in the bottle. Then I got back into bed apparently all drunk and cuddled up to him even though it was really hot and started cuddling and playfully slapped him when he said it was too hot lol

The only time i've peed standing up since coming out to myself in March of this year, is when I'm with my son, who is 10 and I have not come out to him yet. Usually this happens when we're on a road trip and standing by the side of the car.
In public restrooms, standing slightly, hovering over the seat, knees together but backwards, like a tiger :) Seat down, of course.
Eeeew i can't believe i just shared these sordid details ;)

I'm a woman. I haven't peed standing up for at least two and a half years. Saturday will be two years exactly since I've taken every breath as a female, but I didn't stand up for quite a while before that, saying to myself at the time my back hurt too bad to stand. The truth is that I was easing my way into womanhood, lol! It's weird how as much as I love to see a man's circumsized penis, I've hated mine for my entire life, and now I rarely look at it unless I absolutely have to. Going potty sitting down not only makes it easier not to have to look at it, I can ignore this 'thing' between my legs almost entirely. Hugs, Mira

I actually have a very hard time peeing standing up. I can only do it if I have to pee really bad. I don't know why, it's just easier to relax those muscles when I'm sitting down. Been this way all my life.

I much prefer to sit - it "feels right" on the same level that so many other female-centric things do...BUT...
^this^ is a relevant thing to me.
so ...
1. whenever I'm in a multi-stall location, it's sitting without considering any other option
2. whenever i'm at liberty to go again as often as necessary, I sit without considering any other option
3. while on the clock at work, and in the middle of the night, i compel myself to stand so that I void completely, in order to avoid (a) getting in trouble for going too often (b) having to return to the restroom 6 times a night (which i HAVE done before!)
I don't LIKE it, but it is maddening to walk away from the bathroom and feel like you need to try again within just a few minutes.
Oh, and I never even attempt to pee outdoors (not that I'm in that position very often at all) because i'm too fat to be able to squat with any balance, and I don't consider the circumstance to be worthy of the exception I'd have to make to my preference. if for some reason I was in the woods or something for several hours, I'd HAVE to do it standing because if i squat, i fall over - and that's not very lady-like either.

Due to HRT shrinkage I started having the occasional issue with clearance so I started sitting. I figured I might as well get used to it anyway.
I did like the convenience of standing, but I'm starting to like the idea of taking a moment two out of my day.

I've never seen one of those, it sure would make things easier. I've been having a lot of anxiety lately about using public bathrooms. I had a couple of incidents in the mens room where some jerks didnt take kindly to me being in there, and my confidence is like a roller coaster so using the ladies room is stressing me out.

My school has quite a few "man/woman/handicapped" single bathrooms, which are practical, and in smaller my building, strictly because there's nothing else but still, the only bathroom is unisex.
For real, there is strictly no point in gender-specific bathrooms. >.> The only thing that makes new students uneasy is that they've never seen one and they've been stupidly convinced, like the rest of the population, that there is a good reason why there are seperate bathrooms.
Anyway, uhm, for your question... don't worry about the women's bathroom. When I looked pretty androgynous, I did a few tests and noticed that I got weird looks and even "wrong bathroom, lady" (from old men; old men have a very very narrow idea of what a man can look like) in the men's room, but nothing in the women's bathroom. A little weird look once in a while at most.

Does it not depend on the situation for many of us? I use public women's restrooms and sit when I do. I most often sit on the throne at home too. I am also a rural person and when this girl is doing farm chores or miles down the trail you better believe the practical solution is to water the bushes from a standing posture. Better than a bug bite on the butt?

Hey Joules, "I resemble that remark." Ok, it's not my original joke but country crazy does work out here. As a long time outdoor enthusiasts we have done a lot of camping and there are a number of products developed and sold to women campers that allow them to stand and pee in the bushes without getting soaked. I don't over think anything that is not required to be over thunk.
The ONLY reason ladies don't pee standing is they lack the choice.
When I need to pee the ONLY thing on my mind, is emptying my bladder and making it so I DON'T need to pee.
If I am wearing as usual a shirt and nothing else, I like that I can walk into the bath room and go without a need to do anything other than stand there and pee.
In public I am just interested in peeing and leaving. And it is both easier to just use the penis I am stuck with and go the easy way and not agonize over it. Granted, if I am wearing a dress, I am likely going to use the ladies room and sit. But then again, I might also use the men's room and hike the dress up pull the thing out of panties and use the urinal. Because easy is better.
And like as has been mentioned, public toilets are not always clean enough.
And let's face it, if you are wearing a nice dress, and you can pee standing and NOT risk it being stained, then defiantly sitting might be just that, a pointless act of defiance.
Peeing sitting will not make me feel more the woman.

The ONLY reason ladies don't pee standing is they lack the choice.
Hmm, I don't mean to question the whole post, but there is another reason: it's freaking more comfortable to sit. And standing isn't exactly easy. My father tried to teach me how to pee standing up, and he never could, and gave up on it. And later, when I found myself in the woods and other tight situations, I tried. The first two times, I put some on my pants. The third, I crouched.
Dunno, to me, past the fact that the concept of standing is sort of beyond me, it's just too hard and risky. Maybe my penis-dexterity is just below average, dunno.

I always peed sitting down in the middle of the night, even long before I considered transition, because it meant I didn't need to turn the light on or aim half-asleep. :)
I think the last time I ever did standing, was in a disgusting port-o-potty (well, unless post-op with the catheter counts - ironically, THAT meant we all had to stand, too!). I admit, though, a few times post-op I have missed it... on walks in the woods, of course, but also when I would sit to pee and have to wonder what bizarre result I was going to get this time because swelling = unpredictable spraying.
FWIW, the cis women I've spoken to have said they wished they could stand either when there's no toilet or the toilet is gross, but that they prefer to sit in ideal conditions. I haven't exactly taken a poll like this one, though.

For pre-op and non-op girls, do you ever pee standing up?
You could have included more people in your survey by asking post op girls if they peed standing up before surgery. Before I had SRS I only sat to pee when I was using a public bathroom when I was presenting myself to the world as female. I didn't have body dysmorphia I had gender dysphoria. Now if I had been allowed to be female, if the only thing holding me back had been my genitals then that would have been the issue (having typically male genitals and peeing in typically male fashion, possibly). Since I was forced to socialize as male and since secondary sexual characteristics destroyed my ability to be perceived as female, sitting down to pee would have been to me like starving to death but worrying more about place settings than food.

I confess to standing up, but when transitioning the first time I was a sit down girl 100% when crossing, 95% when not. Once I detransitioned I forced myself to break the habit and am now starting to realise I need to gear up (or sit down) in preparation for full transition. Problem is, at the moment the Spiro is making me pee like nothing else and it gets a bit boring having to sit for every #1! :P

It's very frustrating that Susan's won't let me link a video without posting a borderline NSFW thumbnail so I just put the code up for you to copy & paste, or just do a search on YouTube for the trailer for "That Awkward Moment".

I can't believe I never responded in my own thread.
Answer is that I have no problem peeing standing up. I don't seem to "drain" properly sitting down, so if I'm alone, I always stand. I only sit when I'm using a public ladies'.
However, since I started my RLE, I've had a ritual where I make contact with the toilet seat beforehand. I want to have a good idea of what life would be like without being able to stand.

One of these days, if I have enough money, I'm going to tell the boss there is a message written on the wall in the restroom. Upon entering he will see "I Quit" with dripping, yellow letters.
If you can piss your height you need to go grocery shopping somewhere else.

Meh. I guess I'm not trans enough, because I have no problems standing to pee. Although if I'm using a womans restroom I will sit. But, in my own house? I dunno. I just never ever thought that the basic function of urinating is a symbol of gender identity above and beyond biology. So, when I need to pee I pee, and its faster to do it standing. That said, I'd rather not have the ability to stand and pee. But, I got it, may as well rock it while I still can.

I used to always pee sitting down and never used a urinal in my life, but for some reason, not sure why, but the last couple of years I can pee standing up to empty the bladder better. I still don't use a urinal, though. I might have bad peeing problems if I ever did have the surgery to lose that dreaded male organ. And many times I would love to get rid of it, too. I always hated it moving around and getting stuck in uncomfortable areas of the under shorts.

Never! I'm a woman therefore I sit. It helps not having to look at the disgusting thing when I go too. I prefer to sit also, and I've been this way since I was a kid. ;)
Besides, the last time I mistakenly entered a mens room wasn't very pleasant -I was nearly chased out of there! I was so embarrased I politely left the store as quickly as I could, and used the ladies room at a nearby KFC.

Well, I didn't mean it that way. I certainly don't think someone who sits is more of a woman (evidenced by the fact that even full-time, I stand whenever I get a chance).

I should clarify myself. What I meant is that with all of the responses, you'd think the thread were titled differently. It seems something like this should just be a poll, because otherwise it seems to evolve into a "I fit in" type of conversation. We're always looking for validation.

I'm still trying to figure out my anatomy to try to stand up to pee. I've tried once but I ended up just squatting over the toilet so it didn't go all over the place.

I'm still waiting to get an STP sometime soon. I've seen a lot of FTMs say they aren't too happy with theirs so I kind of don't know if I should spend the money but it'd be nice to try.
Squatting over the toilet is just really dysphoric and besides I don't want to touch myself "down there" to aim.

Sitting down to pee has been a natural thing to me for years. Urinals aren't my thing, but lately I have to admit standing over a toilet because lately it helps me empty the bladder. Plus public toilets don't look very nice to sit on unless I take a lot of soap and water to the seat. The toilet covers don't guarantee that they won't rip and you get it in the.....well, you know!

Public restrooms would be the exception for me sometimes too. If they are all covered in urin or so I will stand. If it's just a little I try to clean it dry before sitting down.

When I was 8, I started wetting the bed because I get kicked out of the girl's room, made into a pervert and generally outcasted and dismissed by teachers for saying that I'm really a girl. This last until somewhere around 12-13 when I finally got medicine to take care of it ( It was some kind of nasal drip and to this day I do not know it if t was a placebo or something real.) I never read about it in depth cuz I dont know the med's name. But...back here in real time, if I'm in the woods, I'll squat. I don't pee standing up. But I'm going to have surgery so that's a limited time offer for me anyways. But, seriously, it's just too dysphoric to stand, aim, spray. I feel sick/nauseous for about 10 minutes afterwards, though it could ruin my whole day and put me in a mood. That's just me. It sucks being me.

Yep, it does. I cant wait to get surgery i'm so desperate I have given up on saving for the complete surgury, im going to just save up the 5-8k and have partial depth look alike done. Dunno if you know most my story but before coming to terms with who I am. I tried taking my own life in 3 very violent ways. The Fact i'm still alive still blows my mind.
First time I tried to hang myself in a barn, jumped head first off the rafters. My neck didnt snap, and before I blacked out and died, the rope snapped.
Second time, I tried to ram my car from along time ago into a tree The engine quit on me just after I hit 110 mph and came to a halt just before the tree.
third time, I bought a dirty gun, put it to my head and pulled the trigger, it had a bad firing pin and didn't go off.
After that I started going to therapy and went on HRT.

It was after trying every which way in my power to "be a man", and then leaning on God and his Word that I realized there is a reason I am trans, and that there is nothing wrong with being trans. I am now at the point that if I were to not be able to go on HRT, that it would not end well.

Yeah... sometimes I feel like Job, you know? God's messing with me? My first time was the rope as well, I was 6 and my neck didn't snap. My mother found me swinging from a tree branch. The second time, I was 15. My older brother interrupted me, failed again. After that, I began numbing myself by substance abuse. That seemed to work for about 15 years. And so as not to ignore the thread's topic, no, I prefer to sit, it just works for me.

The women's room is not much better. If at all. Men generally will sit on the seat; lots of women hover. That means there's pee all over the seats all the time and some bitches don't clean it up. I would say 50 percent of the time I use the women's room at either Suburban and 30th Street Station in Philly, there's pee. It sucks but I found a better bathroom at Drexel that's real close to public transportation but sometimes a bitch just has to pee. I sometimes still feel a little weird using it, but at least when I do no one stares at me. If I use the men's room, everyone just stares at me with this wide "WTF" eyes...so yeah.

As disappointing as it is to me, I can't get what I want instantly (or even before the end of the year).

Me too. I stood to pee for over 50 years as it was the thing to do. However, it never excited me and I was uncomfortable standing next to another guy at the urinals. Once I decided to sit in 1997 I have not stood under any conditions; I either sit or squat depending on the circumstances (except on occasion in the shower). I now find sitting to be the normal thing to do and am actually paranoid of the thought of standing. I have sat (and not stood) in front of my wife both at home and in single user unisex facilities on occasion but have not had the opportunity to squat in front of her when outside. She is very rigid in her views as to sexuality but has not commented either positively or negatively about my sitting to pee.

I never sit in public restrooms unless I REALLY have to...and when I do it is on a way I don't touch anything lol It's very hard to do it!
Opening my belt, unzipping my pants and taking them down takes so much more time...and trying to sit without indeed sitting is very hard...so I usually pee standing up...
But when I am at home and I have all the time of the world, I always do it sitted! :)

Well, I hope that womens public restrooms are cleaner than mens...this is my only hope :)
At least here on my country mens restrooms are terrible. Men usually don't flush the toilet...they pee on everywhere...and unless you are at a shopping center or at some expensive place, it's very likely that the restroom will be messy and not kept clean. Nobody wants to sit on a vase that is wet with pee and with a "surprise" resting on the bottom, right? I only feel I want to puke when I see those things there.
Tha's why I have this "mentality", because here public restrooms aren't kept clean most of the times, at least at the mens side. My mother used to say that the womens are always clean, so let's hope she was right ^^

The men's restrooms I've been in in the US are much the same. I'm not expecting the women's to be much better (and some people have told me they aren't), but I am looking forward to the day I'll be able to find out first hand.

My only actual experience in Womens' restrooms has been cleaning them, or doing odd plumbing repairs. I did both sets of restrooms to the same standard, and did not get complaints on either. Any place you go the same person or persons will be cleaning both sets of restrooms - so if one is a filthy pigsty the other will be as well.
Welcome to "public accomodations."

ps. if have grs, def gonna be carrying some sanitizing stuff or alcohol wipes to clean before I go lol

You both want to be female so you better get used to sitting to pee.
Some women's rooms though are not fit to use. :icon_blah: When I run into one of these I just move on to the next one hoping it's better. :-)

I sit to pee 99% of the time for over 30 years.
The only time i stand is when the toilet seat is in a very bad way, or the floor in front of the seat is wet and not from water. And being very small I would more likely pee in my pants. Just a bad case scenario.

I always thought a urinal was the most gross thing in a men's washroom. Even as a little kid. There was no way I would ever have used one. Especially at stadiums where there is a mile long line even to the men's washroom, just using a toilet. Serving beer at those places was a disaster in later years! Just a cruel joke!

The only time I've ever tried to pee standing is in a dire emergency out in the woods, and even then I had to squat as it for some reason is easier for me to stay clean and to empty my bladder that way, while squatting rather than it is standing. And it has to be a serious emergency for me like out in the woods or something. The way what I have down there is, I'll get pee all over me if I just stood. So, I always sit to pee especially since I've been using ladies rooms most of my life.
So my vote was when I posted earlier: Eww! No! I'm a girl. Girls sit down.

Lady's rooms when it's time, I'll stand only if I'm alone or if the stalls are completely walled off to each other not showing footware (and which way they are pointing ;D)

I do wonder how many pre-OP girls would squat/sit if they were on a camping trip in the woods or something. I might highly prefer sitting at home, but given the right incentives like being in a forest I could prefer standing.

Yes, standing to pee in the woods would be logical if pre-op. Of course many still would squat as a matter of principle, which is fine for the individual. The preference thing. For me, using what I still have under those circumstances would suffice.

Umm... what? I don't think it's essential to either, since I've never used my penis for sex and it's extremely unlikely that I ever will since it's not my thing. I don't use it for anything but peeing.
But at the moment, the physiological realities are that I have to pee through it, so I use the only perk of having it and that peeing standing up. I also seem to have a bit of a kink in the tubing, so if I pee sitting down it seems that a lot of fluid is left in the way and one urinary track infection was enough.

Actually if you were to cut it off while still leaving the balls you could still get someone pregnant. It would just be a lot harder. I've heard of cases where the guy pulled out, exploded, and then the girl got pregnant anyway. Penetration isn't a requirement for pregnancy.

Yeah I know but I had irrational fear regarding both. Its something my therapist mentioned and why she encouraged me to shave my legs. The legs will potentially be noticeable in the neighborhood so it's a little more rational, but like she said if you can't deal with something as simple as shaving your legs and bring visible in public how are you supposed to transition.

I think the term squatting should be added to the voting poll because no one "sits" in a public resting area. lol  But for me I dont mind standing in a private restroom. If I'm in a public rest area then I'm pretty sure some alarms would go off if someone saw toes pointing towards the toilet instead of away. ;)

The day that I figured out that I was transgender was the day that I started sitting down to pee. It's been almost three years now.

I do mostly do to that's how I have done it since a little tiny human, so I guess I just got used to it, and the difference of how I pee really isn't important to me as long as I can pee.

Quote from: Cute Ida on July 20, 2014, 12:13:38 AMIt has now been 16 years for me and I have not stood even once in that time. I started sitting because of occasionally getting splashes on my pants and wet spots on them from getting the last spurts after tucking that thing back in.
The day that I figured out that I was transgender was the day that I started sitting down to pee. It's been almost three years now.
The biggest problen with sitting is the limited number (frequently only one) of stalls in many men's public restrooms. However, sitting has become the natural thing for me and I am actually paranoid of the thought of standing.

standing up or sitting down does not one person more trans than the other.
I've always sat for the most part, for me it was easier and living with just a mother I didn't want to make a mess.
As I got older and well going in public toilet in an all boys school you sort of have to stand. I didn't mind it and moved on, it wasn't something I hated doing and if I had a choice I wold sit.
Into my HRT and post SRS, I had to sit when out, into my HRT if I was lazy I would stand and even now I've tried learning how to stand & pee (not as easy as you would think).

Since I'll be having my SRS soon it's a good thing I'm used to sitting down as I've done so all my life. Somehow with me standing to pee seems wrong, and always has. The only thing that's going to be difficult after SRS are those emergencies where I have to pee in a cup in my truck. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to still do this as I lean out over the edge of my seat now to. I'll just have to lean a little more forward. Good thing this is only an emergency thing, lol!

I sit to pee... like... 99% of the time. Idk, it's just more comfy and has always felt more natural to sit... seemingly more so recently. I mean, I can stand and do it I guess... if I have to use a public restroom and the only thing open is urinals, sure, or if everything is dirty... but it is never really 'comfortable' peeing like that, and not from a dysphoric stand point either.

5 plus weeks into taking estradiol valerate and micronized progesterone, I sit ALL the time at home.
I sit about 90% of the time in the men's room, and about 10% of the time I have to stand -- very unfortunate.
The nipples and areolas are already protruding rather obviously in my shirt, and look ready for a baby to nurse on them.
With more breast development, I could conceivably use the women's restroom during non-peak hours when nearly empty, I hope in not too long. I don't want to get into disputes with security guards, though.

I have to sit all the time now as after nearly 16 months on Oestrogen, I am very tiny down there and cannot really function at the mens urinals (which I hate anyway). Its much easier and cleaner to sit. As my Girlfriend & Flatmate said 30 years ago when I transitioned the first time around. You MUST sit every time. Get used to it and you will be much happier , but don't forget to wipe yourself afterwards . Just get into the habit. If my friend (whom I shared with) ever caught me trying to stand I got a serious talking to. In fact with the couple that I went onto live with for a while as an aupair - slipping back like that meant some spanking by Derek and Yvonne!

Since I made the decision to finally accept who I've known I've been since childhood, I have found that it makes me very dysphoric to stand while peeing. I just can't do it any more. It's weird to me that it bothers me, but in a way it makes me happy. I confirms my self identity and reinforce's to me that I am making the right decision by pursuing my transition.

I have not stood under any circumstances since back in 1997. I am even paranoid of the thought of standing. However, I was never comfortable standing next to another guy doing it. I do not present in female mode (but would like to be able to do so) and still only sit and do not find it to be a problem.
The biggest problem is the lack of an adequate number of stalls (frequently only one) in many men's restrooms. I wish that I was able to use the women's restroom.

NO!! No way, no how, no m'am!! Girls do not pee standing up unless it is a bizarre situation and none come to mind readily. I do not care what is down there -- that is a no. When I encounter a nasty bathroom situation, I do what all other girls do and that is hover engaging the thigh muscles. If I catch any of my girlfriends or find out they 'standing up', I will force them to go back and do it all over again the proper way --- Young Lady! If they are still in mannish mode, then understandable.

Standing does come in handy at times though, and I do it reluctantly. But I prefer to sit as I have privacy.
There's even a funnel they sell for females to stand up and pee!

For disgusting bathrooms, I place paper towels around the toilet seat after wiping it off with 90% rubbing alcohol I keep in my purse. I always sit to pee, what I have in my nether regions would make a mess of me otherwise. Oh I've tried to stand a few times when I was younger in emergency situations as I've said earlier a few times out in the woods, but it just doesn't work that well for me. It's hard to empty your bladder while stretching and/or pulling things, lol. Women sit, I'm a woman so I sit. :icon_cute:

Odd... 15 months and I have zero shrinkage, but that's the fact I've built so much sexual frustration that I can get an erection nearly anytime. I had a bit of pain one, but I pump once a week to get the full stretch of skin instead of 80% power boners.
But being back to peeing, things have taken a different turn for me: I am in an office building with multiple stalls, and I can hear the noise of other women. Despiite sitting, I noticed that the main difference between me and them was the noise level. They tend to hit the water, yet I seem to be doing it more diagonally, hitting the toilets wall. I'm thinking about changing the sitting position a bit to replicate the noise.

Not too sure if you have foreskin or not, but pinching it (yes you'll get pee on your hands) will make it sound a lot more like a woman's flow.
You also might be "swinging" when peeing, pushing back will fix that ;)

Personally I'm not a fan of the extra noise and if anyone comments on how quite I am. I would reply about the wonders of sound depression that toilet paper provides.
I have no preference to standing or sitting. I like what is most convenient for the time at use.

What are you even talking about? We as transwomen eventually make a decision to stop peeing standing up. It's fact. So, I have no idea what stereotype you're talking about.
lol its definitely not a fact. its kind of funny you just proved in my mind that the stereotype, which I previously believed did not exist, does in fact exist. by you saying "every trans women stop peeing standing up", you are demonstrating the stereotype. I am a trans women and I pee standing up like 1/3 of the time and I am not bothered by doing it most of the time.

Some folks pee standing others prefer to sit, no big deal as long as no-one is peeing on anyone else's shoes and such

This, is my biggest hangup for peeing in public at the moment. I usually will sit and wait until everyone else leaves, or flushing is going on so that no one will notice the sound is different... It's ridiculous. No one is listening but me. But it's super dysphoric for me to do it while people can hear. Can't wait for SRS. :)
As for standing - I will do it at home, usually when I am in a hurry. It used to make me feel bad/guilty when I did, but once I actually started presenting as female publicly, I clung to little things like this less. It's there - I hate it, I want it gone, but why not use it to save me time while it's here? At least that's how I justify it in my brain.

Just point it backwards a bit. The sound is close enough to what the ladies do. Obviously I've thought about this quite a bit as well...I mean no one wants to be outed by their quiet pee stream, right?

Heh, did it again. The reason this time: I was loaded. I was full dressed carrying two shoulder bags and with my back pockets filled with coins. Too much to remove in so little time.
Funniest part was doing a meticulous checkup for pee stains.

I've made a habit of sitting down. As much as I'd like to pee standing up (as I'm sure many cis-women would as well), I feel like it's important for me to pee the proper female way. If for no other reason than to spare me the embarrassment of leaving the seat up when I'm done (which I will do if I stand up, because I'm forgetful)

Since I always use the ladies when I am out I sit down.
But at home or in safe surroundings I stand up, it's quicker, it's easier (unless I have tights on) and I might as well take advantage of the ony reason it's worth having this stupid thing between my legs!
;D
Oh yeah, if the toilets I have walked into a gross and dirty I will likely stand anyway, ladies or not!

I stood to pee until about three years ago, at that time i just to feel odd while peeing standing and ever since i have sat to pee. My used to ask about it and then i guess she got no understandable answer and stopped asking. This started about the same time as my Dysphoria. Now I only stand in nasty restrooms, even in the men's restrooms I sit.

I feel like when I eventually start presenting as a female, I will sit down, since I was remembering how my cousins were talking negatively about trans people, so I guess I want to kind of help bring a positive image or something.

Now I come to think about it, I was considered pretty weird at school when I refused to use the urinals and have always sat down, so I don't even know what it's like to stand to pee. The boys used to tease me for this, and sometimes they'd stare over the top of the cubicle at me asking why I sat to pee. From Year 1 I was called girly boy and the boys completely and utterly rejected me, not that I really cared because I didn't regard myself as a boy anyway and only socialised with the girls, who were always more genuine.
I also used to use the girls loos at school, according to my parents, back in 1990 when I started school, and had to be told not to and pressure was put on my parents to 'educate' me also. It was a Catholic primary school and at time I was just seen as disobedient I guess. Even telling my parents that I was a girl at the age of 4 and repeating it year after year, even to my doctor failed to get any kind of sympathy. Nobody prescribed me hormone blockers, they just told me to grow up. I just wish that I'd been born say in 2000, rather than 1985 and in a country where gender dysphoria is better understood and catered for. Caitx

Sitting is so much more pleasant, enjoyable and relaxing. If it takes a little longer to complete the job you don't have to stand there looking like >:-) you are playing with that thing >:-). You don't have to be paranoid about having pee spots on your trousers from splashing or getting the last spurt after tucking that thing back in. Stood for many years before choosing to :) sit :)

(1) Women who don't know and see your feet facing the wrong way when in the women's restroom could be a problem.
(2) Wouldn't it be uncomfortable since you would not be able to wipe and would have residule dampness between your labia?

I had an internal battle about this.
Will it break the feminine story I'm trying to construct? Will I do put my self-esteem down by not acting femininely?
In the end I decided I'll just do what's comfortable for me. And hey, while it's there, why not get the single available good use of it? So for a while now I haven't used urinals because I don't want guys seeing my thing - but I do stand up. Don't worry about spills, I'm freakishly clean in these matters. I even wipe the floor if I cause a drop haha.

Sitting is always so much neater, especially in a small bathroom. I was in the ER recently on my back all wired up for an EKG, my jeans still on and zipped and one of those backless gowns on when the nurse hands me the little plastic urinal and asks me to pee for her. "Uh - really? Listen darlin do you think you can find the little thing and get it out for me? I'm really quite indisposed at the moment!" :D

I was of the belief (and still am to some extent): What's the difference? Doesn't change who I am.
However, the past couple weeks I've started only sitting to pee. My thought process isn't that it feels "right" (it's really more that I don't care either way), but that I'm wanting to do as many feminine things as possible so I can feel more comfortable when I finally do start hrt and go full time. It seems kind of silly, but I'm trying to train my brain and get rid of the toxic thoughts by doing small things like that.

As far back as my memory goes, I've always urinated sitting down. Ewww peeing standing is just not me! However, if anyone else feels comfortable standing, go for it, you're no less female! :)

Sitting down 99%, especially in the women's restroom! It seems more natural anyway.

Have sat or squatted full time for past 17 years with no exceptions other than in the shower. Am now totally paranoid of standing and don't have any desire to do so.

Standing up and peeing anywhere is something I will dearly miss. Not necessarily in the restroom but out in the woods or similar and I'm out in the woods a lot either cutting wood or camping. I'm an outdoors kinda gal. There's even a device for cis women to pee standing up so I know I'm not alone. I had a dream once where Marci Bowers was going to do my SRS and before I went under she said, "all right this is it. Anything you wanna do before you go to sleep?" I said, "you know maybe I should tell my wife first... Oh and I need to pee one last time standing up."

My biomother was an only parent and she never taught my twin and I to stand and pee. But years later while my foster mum and I where fooling around she suggested I try it. And I did with messy results as I had no idea how to point it. I just feel that sitting is a cleaner way to go to the toilet and that is all I have ever known to do.

About 6 years ago i started sitting while peeing. Feels weird when i have to do it standing up.
It was one of the ways that i felt i could practice my femininity, posture too.
i think it had to do with deeply disliking my maleness and wanting to break it down.

Medically speaking, when you have a penis you void your bladder better by standing up. The long urethra that goes with a penis ,versus the rather short straight urethra a vagina has, just voids more effectively standing up. Try peeing sitting down and then stand up and see if you can get a little more out, usually I can.
For this reason and this reason alone do I ever stand to pee. I find that if I pee sitting down I inevitably have to go again in about 10 minutes due to a not fully evacuated bladder. If I pee standing up this does not occur so at home I will occasionally (maybe 1 in 5 times) go standing up due to the medical condition called an extra unwanted appendage.

Its just me.... we are all different.. Also, standing up and doing it your gonna splash even if you can't tell .. so its more messy.

Even though I have a male appendage and currently present as a male, I pull my pants and panties down and squat when outside. Standing would be doing it through the fly in my trousers when in a totally upright position and I have become paranoid (fear of splashing all over my pants and retaining urine) of that.

Ha. Yes I try to "do my business" away from the trails and water sources. But in reality you want moving water anyway or filtered standing water with a lifestraw or similar. If I'm camping where there are no facilities I will make my own according to what I learned in scouts.

However I always sit in the woman's bathrooms in public..

I'd sit whenever possible, especially if I was all dressed up. Only once was I glad to have a penis because I had on a nice outfit and the port-a-potty was absolutely filthy inside. Wet floor, and almost everywhere else wet too.
I intentionally had my last stand up pee on June 9 2015 at 3:30PM before heading into the operating room. After that, well sitting is now a necessity but no regrets.
Love,
Clare

This isn't something to debate.
Here in Houston we are debating the Equal Rights ordinance. It's opponents characterize it as the ->-bleeped-<- bathroom bill.
This is serious. It is our dignity, equality, safety and lives on the line.
I will say this. I was in a public women's restroom doing my business when someone walked in and peed standing up.
I was terrified. Honestly I worked hard to not have an all out panic attack. That sound does not belong. Women don't want to hear it.
One is stuck in a stall with who knows outside. You are in a very vulnerable position.

Actually, this reminds me - the last time I peed standing up was somewhere on the sixth day AFTER surgery. ;) That damned catheter made it mandatory! We were all complaining about how ironic that was. And now I'm looking into getting one of those doohickeys that lets someone with a vulva pee standing, because my last couple of hikes up a mountain included some times when I really wished I could do that.
(I know, the question was really for people with penises, but I'm amused by both situations.)

Jenna Marie, there are times when peeing standing up is very nice and convenient, like hiking/camping. I would think anyone with a vulva who did much outdoors, hiking/camping, would want to get one of the devices so they didn't have to lower there pants to pee. I know the guys just step off the trail pee and are back so quickly.

Okay folks. Here is the deal. I know that bathrooms are a hot button topic and some of the concerns others have we all when in the bathroom. Despite all of that it isn't an excuse to take other posts personally, judge or attack other users for what they do. This topic isn't here to discuss the legalities of what bathroom and how how use it. The topic deviated in that direction and has been clean up as a result of that because it started to result in members attacking each other. Here so TOS to keep in mind. The topic will be reopened in a bit, but only after things have been given a proper cooling off time. Thanks

Thanks
Mariah

In the past five months I've only peed standing up a grand total of once. Only because the bathroom I was at was super super nasty. So it was the one time I was happy to still have the thing. Otherwise I don't know what I would have done.

That is, I sense trans women could be harassed in the US for standing in a restroom. It doesn't make that harassment right though.
Well also feet should point out not in. Seeing that is also bad
Being reminded of those gaps, I can say I am glad to live in place where restroom spaces have actual doors that span from the floor to the ceiling. The gap is in range of millimeters. I haven't seen a high gap restroom space door since prim school in eastern Europe.

Thanks to my coffee habit and spiro, I've been having incontinence issues. Whenever I pee, I've still got some left. Over the next hour, about a tablespoon or two will dribble out.
The other day, I tried standing to pee and I got it all out in one go. I alternated sitting and standing, and the pattern is clear: I can't empty my bladder sitting down.
Oh well. I'm nonbinary. I prefer voluntarily excluding myself from women's restrooms if it means not pissing my pants a few times a day.

I did stand up in early childhood, but never really managed to get the hang of it and eventually stopped entirely when I was around 8. I only started standing up again within the last 5 years, but it still doesn't feel right and I only do it when I have no other choice (I'm in the wilderness, all the stalls are full, or the seat is really filthy)
Also, I started wiping myself around the time I entered puberty. I just couldn't keep control the way guys were supposed to.
Actually, I never figured out why that was giving me problems; I'd always thought I must be defective or stunted or something because it just seemed to come naturally to guys while I was struggling with it. Now I'm realizing that doing this after the female way has been the norm for me and I'm more comfortable with that.

My wife jokingly commented on me sitting down the other day. I told her since I'm starting HRT and will be starting RLE in the fall, I thought I should go ahead and get in the habit. Then I said she hadn't complained about the seat being up lately. She laughed and said, "There is that."

I am reminded of I think it was a comedian who asked her fellow woman kind, if your going to hover, please please put the seat up first. Just because you consider it too filthy to sit on dose not mean the next woman will be as bothered by it, unless you go and piss all over it trying not to sit.

PS. women if you bring your children into the restroom and they make a mess of things please clean up after them or at least tell someone about it, Some of us have to work another 5 hours and holding it really is not much of a option.

I've sat since I was about 4 or 5, not much after I was toilet trained. It seemed better for some reason. Never really thought about standing up honestly. I mean, those urinals are there, but I'll just leave that to the boys. They usually wait in lines behind them here. I'd rather get out of the blasted men's room than wait!

I only pee standing up when I can't do it sitting down. (Normally in places without a restroom, like when I go hiking.) The last time I used a urinal was two years ago. I've always defaulted to sitting down whenever I had a choice, for as long as I can remember.

I guess I'm the odd one. I tend to stand when I can get away with it, its just easier and I've never been one to let opinions stop me from doing something. Now if I'm in a public restroom or anywhere that people don't know I'm trans I sit down, I also sit if the pants I'm wearing won't really let me pull myself out to pee.

Growing up I used to pee mostly standing up, because that's what people expected. Whatever. I could never use urinals though, I just don't like them and they are so not private enough for me. I still am early in my transition, so I still present male publicly and use the men's room if there isn't a non-gendered one. Now I usually sit down unless I'm in a rush to go somewhere or do something. It's far more comfortable for me.

How exactly were they able to tell? Stalls normally make it extremely hard to tell whether you pee standing or sitting down, and a lot of people prefer not to use urinals because they don't offer very much privacy.

I love this place so much. Whenever I consider something and think I'm the only girl thinking about this stuff, I find a post like this :) so I'm pre-transition and I pee sitting down unless I have to. Being I'm just getting my head around being trans and I have a girlfriend I'm slowly introducing aspects of my girl side to, I like to do little subtle things to make me feel girly when I can. Growing and colouring my hair, wearing a few bits of subtle clothing and yes, peeing sitting down. It's amazing how you can find weird little ways to express yourself

I've actually been peeing in the backyard a lot, which I never used to do. But the spiro makes me have to pee so much and I feel bad for using that much water just to pee. And most likely when I'm in public I'll pee standing up, because yucky, but not on my toilet at home.
