Wow, where to begin?

Hey people, I'm Toby, 19 years old and English. And I'll be two months on testosterone in four days!

It's taken me a long time to get to this point. I'm finally on the waiting list for one of the northern gender clinics too (I have a really supportive doctor who was willing to prescribe me hormones after I'd been messed around by the medical system - I feel very blessed to have his support).

I've been out since I was 15, and though I have a very unsupportive family, I've been living as male since then. I'm in a relationship with my best friend who is also a transguy, though he's 5+ years on testosterone and has had chest surgery and lower surgery, so we're both at totally different stages of our transition. It's great though, it gives me a lot of hope for my own transition - hope I never had before.

And I'm going back to university later this year! I had to sort-of drop out after a few months, the anxiety and stress from all of this was killing me. Part of my problem was that I much prefer to be stealth, I reeeally don't like it when people like to ask me all of their rude/invasive/slightly perverse questions about all things that are trans.

But, anway! I'm here because, for the first time, I can honestly say that I'm happy, and totally ready to get on with my life. I'm eager to get through my transition as soon as I can, and then the pain and the crap can all be far in the past.

So, yeah! Nice to meet you all (or any of you who read this, haha). Would love to make friends here, I have several trans friends both on and off the internet, and I feel like you can never have too much support, right?

www.susans.org/chat (https://www.susans.org/chat)  or better irc.susans.org is open 24/7, Toby. Not always busy, but early morning your time, you'll likely find some Americans and Canadians who never sleep.
