Title: "Hell Houses"
Post by: Valerie on November 10, 2005, 08:16:48 PM
I cannot believe I didn't come across sites like these earlier. 'Hell Houses" are an evangelical spin-off of the Halloween haunted house...and far scarier, I might add. Their purpose is to literally 'scare the hell' out of people so that they'll make a 'decision' for Christ. No doubt Christ is apalled....

t helps if you disable your pop-up blockers & gotta' have your speakers on.

I didn't even view everything on the 2nd one, once you get the general idea, well....

It's bad enough that they do this stuff to teens and young adults, Deb, but little kids are also attracted by the haunted house theme, and I read an article online where the journalist stated that they saw two young children "praying through their tears"....the poor things were scared to death to not 'get saved' (how I hate that phrase) at that very moment. Talk about trauma....they'll need therapy in a few years.  We can only hope that when they're adults they will not see this as a postitive experience or as something that needs to be perpetuated.

(sigh)... :icon_no:

It sort of reminded me of house of 1,000 corpses for some reason. I looked at a few of the 2nd one mostly.

A quote comes to mind:
Quote from: Albert Einstein"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

In the process of finding that I cam across this one which might be appropriate as well.
Quote from: Albert Einstein"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation and is but a reflection of human frailty."

This stuff kind of makes me glad that although I'm a Christian by belief, I don't attend Christian church. What is wrong with these people? Their scare tactics are almost as bad as the early Muslims who killed anyone who refused to convert to Islam!
