Title: How to start T?
Post by: wonderful on June 23, 2013, 04:01:58 PM
Hey guys,
I just wanted a little rundown on how to start T. I'm not quite CLEAR on the process. I've done tons and tons of research but I'd still like a little reassurance.  I think it's about that time. I've been in therapy for 3 months, or more, not sure really; and I'm ready. Tell me how you guys started T. (Also, because I'd love to hear your stories on it.) Thanks so much!
Jake.

I am really not clear on what you are asking .... but ...

I went to counseling and after a couple appointments the counselor and I spent a session writing the letter of approval.  We just went through the requirements and addressed each one of them.

I then went to my doctor and gave her the letter ---she read it & I got it back b/c I didn't want  it to become part of my medical record.  She prescribed me T for low sex drive - a medical reason for a female to take T -- thus my insurance covered the appointment and tests.  I took it to the pharmacy & then had my wife teach me how to inject it (she is a nurse) and I gave myself the first shot

I think it depends where you are from as well. I know here in the UK we have to meet a number of requirements, I can't remember them all but one would be you have to have so many sessions with the gender therapist. I think another was I had to have my name changed with everybody and be full time including at work and have been like that for....at least 3 months I think it was. I had to provide proof of this in the form of a letter from my work and my deed poll. Then I think they put you forward for T.
