:icon_birthday: What are Y'ALL doing for Canada Day? The national holiday almost missed me because, well, Canadians love their country, but I have hardly thought of it for a while now.
Have you any plans for this most holy, most awesome, most prideful day of the year? :icon_clap:
My friend is trying to pressure me to go to his church for Canada Day. I am not sure if my boyfriend and I can do anything in the afternoon and evening though, but there will be lots of good stuff happening! :)

Few days early, are we? ;D
Working in the morning then preparing to take a flight to see my lovely sweetheart the next day!
BUT MOST OF ALL enjoying a good ol'fashioned beer to celebrate my lovely Country! :)

Looks like the weather is going to be nice in southern BC, so probably sit on the deck and have a BBQ with family. There's all kinds of parades and stuff around here, but I'm not one for standing around and waving a flag or anything :D

Really? I didn't really do anything for Canada Day in the last few years, so I am sucking it up and doing something special! :angel: I may be more negative towards our government, but our National pride and heritage is something I want to cherish! :laugh:

In the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, the first Constitution of the United States, in effect from 1781 to 1789, Canada was invited to join the Union of the newly independent United States. Article XI read ...
Canada acceding to this confederation, and adjoining in the measures of the united States, shall be admitted into, and entitled to all the advantages of this union; but no other colony shall be admitted into the same, unless such admission be agreed to by nine [of thirteen] States.
Apparently, the Canadians wanted nothing to do with the upstart neighbors to the south.
