Title: New, but just started HRT :)
Post by: PrincessDayna on July 07, 2013, 01:19:50 PM
I already did an introduction over in that area of the site, but wanted to say hi in here too :) I've been reading everyones progress for a hot minute and what not to gauge my HRT to others, and jsut decided I'd hop on board with the website by making a profile and all that jazz.  So hi out there :)

So, my HRT, I got a letter for it about two monthes ago, and had to search for the right endo here in Michigan. Once found, I went on in June 20th to him with my bloodwork, and genetic testing and got my script.  Pretty simple. Before, I was dumb and self medicated, and was on a low dose to jst calm myself but never got anywhere due to a lack of AA.  For a week there, I was simply on Spiro, twice daily, low dose, then the injections began.  I'm on Estradiol Valerate IM (not saying dose for obvious reasons) weekly, and I think its a rather high dose compared to what I've read/seen out there so far?

Anyone else on low spiro/high E?  Is this "shock" hrt or?  I was diagnosed intersexed by my endo, if that plays a part?  Not sure. My T levels were as he put it "out of the ballpark", but if so why low spiro/high E? and weekly? Its like double the double of doses I've read out there as common for the shot?  Should I be worried?

Anyhow, that asside, midway through week two.  No more up/down emotions, social anxiety is gone, libido dropped, no more morning wood or randoms which is awesome sauce!  My girls are tender as of three days ago.  massively.  each day its like my nipples hurt more and the lump under each nipple seems to be growing.  but its rediculous sore lol. Other then that, not much change facially yet, asside from pore shrinkage (yay to no more black heads magically being gone!), and my skin is uber soft, everywhere.  I dont notice much other changes but some of my female friends I see on a weekly to monthly basis depending on our schedules say i seem to be "glowing".

Also, How do you turn off this hunger? lol!  Does anyone else crave chocolate on a dialy basis around the same time? :) But ya, hi out there, figured I'd drop a few q's, say hi, and put my regimen under scrutinization by you experts <3

First assumption to make --- Your Endo is doing the best they professionally know how to do with your body information that they have carfully analyzed and evaluated.  There is no one perfect and absolute way to prescribe HRT medicines.

Your intersex condition may be the cause of some of the earlier onset of some changes, but everyone of us is different and frankly unique.  The WPATH Standards Of Care 7 has a chart of expected results from MtF HRT on page 38, and the usual expected results vary from 1-3 months for erection ending and libido bombing out, to 3-6 months for breast events and other items.  The far out maximum for all this to take place is 3+ years.

If you begin to feel ill, or have soreness that keeps you from functioning, or heaven forbid, swelling of legs or arms and othe stuff such as breathing trouble, get to an emergency room. or otherwise follow instructions from a member of your Endo's medical staff.

As far as the chocolate goes, thanks for reminding me, I need to go out and buy another case!!

Thanks doll :) The only side effects I *seem* to have it I bruise like easy as can be now!  My upper legs get bruises out of no where lol!  Other then that, still nipple/areola tenderness.  I'm now midway to my 4th shot so keeping my fingers crossed the leg bruising is just a sign of needing more iron, or possibly is a sign of lower levels of potassium since i pretty much all but cut it out of my diet thanks to my worries about the Spiro and not wanting anything bad to happen.....
