I do not know if a lack of responses means no one around here has tried just physically transitioning without socially transitioning or what. I guess I have socially transitioned in the sense that I have worked on my voice, and I dress in womens clothing, but I do not have a very feminine personality, which has caused me some issues. If I could start my transition all over, I am unsure if I would socially transition at all now that I know what I know, but since I did kinda socially transition, I doubt I will be very much help. I would mention that I have felt pressure to socially transition further than I already have, so be prepared for that possibility as well. I am sorry that I could not be of more help on this one.

I'm not really sure what you mean by physically transition and not mentally?

Sorry just saw the thread and like Tristan I'm at loss at the question.
Please feel free and explain, we want to know and to understand. No problem there.

I think the op just meant go through all physical transition stuff but still try to live as your birth gender.

I think what the poster means is to have the HRT and surgery but still present as male? I don't see why not....

Oh ok. I tried that a few times post transition and it didn't go well. Still got called a female which really made me mad and guys were still trying to get with me...ugh....plus I got in trouble...
But it was fun in the since that I got to wear boy cloths and not wear make up and keep my hair in a pony tail. Kinda some of the best of both worlds. If that's what your going for I think it's possible ?

yeah I guess the question kinda confusing for me too lol.
I think what I mean is what kind problem I would encounter if I only transition appearance wise.
For example I would still refer myself as male, same behaviour, not change legal document, same name, etc.

As a deliberately fairly ambiguous person who has had SRS, and who is out as female but retained all docs as male, I like to play with peoples' expectations. I don't get stopped by the cops often enough to care about the IDs, I'm not in any line of work where I might have to spend a night in jail, I usually spend within my means and have cash on hand so I don't have to whip out a credit card with my real name on it.... it can be done just fine. But I'd also say you have to be comfortable enough in a variety of ways (financial, friends, family, etc) to be able to handle and field odd, inappropriate questions at random times! To which the appropriate response is often to be odd and inappropriate right back. >:-) The main thing is, the world is made up of all kinds of lovelies. Don't be drab; add to its color!

I guess the scariest situation will be the jail/prison situation you mentioned. I can't imagine the nightmare.

Well as long as your post op the jail thing shouldn't be that bad.
