This is kind of an embarrassing question since I think I should know this, but... How do other guys show excitement?

Hmm considering the context of this being asked on a TG forum (so it would get a different response if it was something said on my Facebook page by my friends).

It has been my experience, that it is more acceptable for girls to be overly 'bubbly' when showing excitement, ie louder more squeally.

My male friends tend to show 'excitement' in a more gutteral fashion, hooting, and grunting and oohhyas.

Girls get to jump up and down, guys get to do the shoulder slap/punch thing.

Thanks to my making a big effort to conceal absolutely nothing of my being female to anyone that knows me, I have as a result no need to worry about expressing myself in any form of masculine fashion.

But I am not generally speaking the giddy jump up and down squeally sort regardless.
I'm just not the gutteral grunting shoulder punching sort either.

I think it is considered ordinary to combine all of the above though if your team just won, and all the more so if they won a key game. And that is both genders to my knowledge.

Now if by 'excitement' you were thinking of something else :)

So basically, men inflict harm upon each other, and women get to just enjoy themselves.  :eusa_dance: I don't understand the whole shoulder punch thing. Hmm hitting someone's shoulder might get a little weird. I asked a couple of my cis guy friends, but both of them apparently bounce and wave their hands around too. I've never seen them do it, but whatever. Maybe I'll laugh maniacally.

My brother jumps into the room with a wide-legged stance and then flails his arms around like a octopus with a seizure. This is usually followed by information on a new video game.

Also depends a bit on orientation... I hang out with a lotta lesbians, who do a lot of hooting and shoulder punching too, (as well as gay boys who bounce a lot) so do whatever you feel like. It's almost less gender and more orientation...?? I dunno. Just be happy that you are well, happy enough to hoot or bounce or whatever! :)

I've often observed guys doing the 'High Five' combined with the 'Down Low' and then wiggling their fingers about at each other and all sorts of other hand jive and little hip bump dances

Of course there is often quite a bit of hooting and even crowing about involved but not always, sometimes it is just a somewhat quiet high five and down low, but that seems to be when they think they've gotten away with something sly

I suppose it needs to be added, age might make a difference, and cultural is likely a factor as well as specifically what is the source of the excitement.

New model equals standard excitement, new 48th scale model equals more excitement, new Tamiya 48th scale model is getting close to the team won a major game (for me at least. New hobby store in town is like winning the season.

I'd get fairly excited over a great pleated skirt my size.

I'm usually fairly excited over a new Shanara novel or a new Dune series novel.

I like this one. Say it low and drawn out, nod your head slightly and slowly about three times with a smirk on your face and and your arms crossed. Playin' it way cool. 8) I see guys acting like that and I fall in love or lust instantly. :embarrassed:
