Title: Another Boob Question
Post by: Carley Anne D on July 17, 2013, 10:10:15 PM
Hey guys, I'm sorry to bug y'all again, but I had a question. After several years in the MTF community, I have heard that you can expect breast growth one cup down from your mother or sister. Well, before my mom was pregnant, she had an E cup size  :o. So I was wondering, is there any factual data or proof that this is true? Thanks for the help!

That was an urban guideline.  Like an urban legend.  From the newest reads, most girls get a B-C cup.  Larger than that is generally a BA.

However YMMV.

its a myth.

Boob size depends on a few factors, one is genes, another is body size.

I'm very thin, I've got a b-cup (8B in australian sizing). my mother is bigger, more of a solid build and is a 16D.

I notice, if I put on weight, the first things to gain is my boobs & hips, if I lose weight, boons & hips.

I concur with Nicole. My mother is rather small and she has B cup (my observations, never asked her, lol). Given that I am almost one head taller than her, there is no way how I could end with an A cup (I have A right now - 2 months into HRT), so I am actually expecting to end with B cup too.

8 months on HRT and I am a 38B and happy with it!  My mom and sister are D+ but together they probably weigh almost 5 times my weight...

In every group, there are outliers for extreme best- and worst-case scenario. So I'm here as an example of one of them.

I am an only child, so I can't say how I would compare with a sister. But my mother is approximately a B-cup, and her sister is like a C-cup (from what I remember), and their mother is either a B or a C. My father has no sisters, and I couldn't say what his mother is.

I have been on HRT for just over 19 months, and my chest has not changed much from what it was at the three- or four-month mark. That is to say that I'm still less than AA. Maybe my dosage hasn't been high enough, but I don't foresee my boobs getting any bigger.  :-\

And guess what?  Knowing the numbers on a woman's bra, 38B, 34D etc., is useless, since many women have no idea what their true bra size is, and they willy nilly just buy whatever they think it might be.  :o

I have had friends with enormous breasts wearing a little 40D or 42DD and EMBARRASSED for anyone to know what the little tag said, while in actuality they had enough for many cup sizes larger and probably a few band sizes upward.  I used to be that way, clueless, until I got to know my partner -- she is fanatical about getting fitted correctly, and I have to admit, it does make a difference.

OK another question, but I figured I shouldn't open a whole 'nother topic for it. So, I'm six foot and considered to be at a healthy weight, but I am a 34-A right now because I've put on some wight in my chest area recently and I don't know why :P and I was wondering if that will stay after I get on hormones? Also, I want to keep that fat on my chest, but I have five pounds on my stomach I want to get rid of, should I wait until after I get on hormones or what? Thanks!

I would take it with a pinch of salt... as the saying goes.

I wear a 36D bra, my mother wears a 34D, so technically I am bigger than her..

My mom's a 40D. (At least) Although she has somewhat ... Grown ... over 24 years of taking care of a large family.
I'm hoping I get to 38C. Which, judging by the current tenderness of the girls, isn't out of the question. :)

Ah, so YOU'RE the outlier on the other end of the spectrum, pleased to meet you!

...you can expect breast growth one cup down from your mother or sister.

And bear in mind, Carley Anne, that most cis-females (a) have expectations about their bodies maturing, how it will turn out, and (b) have to wait YEARS to actually find out.

Unless there is a really strong family pattern in father's or mother's family, like any other trait controlled by genetics, one X from each parent.

If you think about it: They breed dairy cattle for breast size and output, more milk per pound of feed etc.

We humans have not undergone that kind of direct genetic distillation, so for us humans, our breast size, shape and all the other traits are not easily predicted.

So, we wait.
