Title: cool trans-t-shirts
Post by: Natkat on July 29, 2013, 04:42:30 PM
So
Pride comming up, honestly i'm not sure if i'm to join this year or not, I bet I feel abit tired and not so "proud" on the other hand, I say that each year I won't do a big fuss about it, and still I always end up going out more sparkly than an overdozed nyancat.

So, if i'm to join I thought I would make some cool trans t-shirt for myself and maybe a friends of mine, im not sure which logo or what to writte or draw on?
for simple thought making a shirt like "legalize trans* or with the transymbol seams as simple and good. but im thinking of other options on what to writte on or make and would like suggestions on what you had or think is cool.

for me it need to be something I can relate to, showing me and my struggle, I dont want something like a rainbowflag where people think "oh his just gay" cause im not just gay, im transgender which is something complitly diffrent,
neither do I want it to be in a "im trans ->-bleeped-<- off!" attitude. I dont want to scare people away, I simple want them to think and know we exist,
--
so any suggestions?

How about...bathrooms have male and female "stick figures"...have those, but with a smaller figure inside the larger...colored pink and blue as appropriate (or as inappropriate)...pink guy with a blue girl inside, or just keep b= blue g = pink...

I agree with Emily i also think that a centered trans logo with (I am not confused about my gender. You are) under it would be an awesome top to show off in

How about an isometric diamonds with facids blue and pink with words in them.

Boy
girl
HATE
equal
marriage
DOMA
LOVE
welcoming
Acceptance
Queer
->-bleeped-<-
equality
dysphoria
srs
hrt
rle

I was thinking of this when I was waiting for my therapy session last week. Sort of a visual vocabulary we are subjected to each day. On another note, I hate the stick figures on bathroom doors. I get so confused and panic, which door is which and what one
do I go in. So, including them would be awesome.

"I am not my gender"

"Love has no gender"

Or something like a word cloud of all the indignities we suffer: Surgery, hormones, electrolysis, binding, tucking, STP, forms, wigs, etc., all jumbled up. At the bottom "hug a transgender person today."

You mean something like this?

Well its not a bad logo at all could diffently imagine with some kind of colourfull splash in the background or maybe some text on,
only thing annoying me is it seams very typical in the transbinary of people being "born the wrong body" transexuals alone.
I kinda want some trans thing who symbol as all transfolks being equal important.
Some transfolks suport 1 group of transgender but not the other, I want to make the statement clear that I suport everyone.

That is exactly what I was thinking about. Looks good, imho (even if it's seen by some as excluding others).

The main interest, politically speaking, is to not confuse the masses with 15 different types of TS/TG...but keep it simple, so they can grasp it eventually.

That would be my idea, anyway. But, just so we're all on the same page...when you say "all transfolks", are you referring to CD/DQ/DK/TS/TV etc?

When I saw that post of yours with it, I just *had* to snag it. It's too good to have it disappear in the thousands of topics here.

The magic of photoshop lol, took me 5 min to edit.

when I mean all transfolks I mean all who somehow show somehow diffrent genderidentety or expression on what sociaty belive,
transexuals, genderqueer, intersex, ->-bleeped-<-s and so on, I just want to show that gender is really not so simple as people belive it to be.

I know what you mean the it can be read as how you intend and its good,
I just somehow feel whatever I use I kinda want it to be clear im suporthing the whole umbrella not just one term.  I feel theres alot of fighting between various transgroups in my country.
its like Some transpeople/groups accept and suport transgender, but not if there in any certain kind. exemple some people suport transexuals and intersex but not genderqueers or nonbinarys. they belive in fighting for transgenders rights but that some of the acpects of transgenders are unnessesarry to focus on, less important or just harm. I dont share that cause even when I belive we got diffrent struggles I belive in suporting for the whole term not for some of them.

I bet it what in english called more ->-bleeped-<- than thouse or something like that ::)
