Title: Grrr
Post by: Cassandra Hyacinth on July 30, 2013, 07:29:53 PM
OK, so I came out to my mother a month ago. Since then I've made zero progress regarding starting my transition.

Basically she doesn't want to hear anything about it until I've spoken to a counselor. Great... except that I can't stand talking to medical professionals, and her lack of support (insisting I'm too masculine to be trans etc.) does not help me out on that front at all. So yeah, haven't got around to speaking to them.

And she's annoyed because three people I know IRL call me by my new name. Apparently, I shouldn't have anyone call me that until I've 'made steps' to living as a woman and have spoken to professionals.

So basically I'm in a bit of a rut right now. Sigh.

Big hug! Lots of people don't like medical settings, you'll have to figure out a way to get past it. One month on Mom is probably nowhere near enough time, let her work through it. Hugs, Devlyn

I've got some bad news, dear. During your transition, you will need to talk to a LOT of medical professionals. I don't think you'll get far without getting used to it. Most of them are very helpful.

I believe people, whether trans or cis, have the right to be called whatever they want. Don't give in on this one.

Good luck, C.H.
