Title: Dilating
Post by: Caisie Breen on July 30, 2013, 08:43:05 PM
:( I have had dilation issues for the last four months and today, I learned that it's really bad. The original doctor has said all along to "just keep dilating, everything is fine".

It wasn't fine. I went to see another doctor today who is also a M-F TG woman and she gave me a more complete examination that my original doctor did. She found that the 'scar tissue" had built up to the point that I will never open up more without another surgery.

I'm depressed; out of air and don't know what to do. I can't afford another operation and I really want a fully functioning vagina.

I am just not sure what to do.

Sorry to hear you are having troubles. As i am now understanding the whole post part of my life i come to the understanding that the after care is lacking knowlege. I have a small area just inside the entrance, it is hard to the touch. white patch. I seen my GP and she had not a clue and took a swab, i also sent a pic to the nurses and they said find out what the swab said and keep a eye on it till i see the SRS doctor end of this month. No one seem to think it is a big issue, but ha sitting here not knowing what it is driving me crazy. So yes aftercare i feel by now should be way better in knowlege.

Good luck and you should get in touch with who did your GRS and see what they can do for you?

Big hugs

Izzy

I am so sorry to see these issues that you  are having as well. :(  I am with  mind here on this to get a hold of the surgeon who did this, which begs the quest who did the operation, I know mine has a lifetime guaranty if I am not satisfied to come back for a revision. Which yes its in Thailand but I figure a plane ticket is more manageable than a redo, again I am so sorry this has happened to you:(

I would VERY DEFINITELY get in touch with your surgeon ASAP.  I know that if I had developed something like that, that my surgeon would have had me covered.  Depending on where the scar tissue is, it may not even be much of a surgical problem if the underlying tissue is in good shape.  The sooner you do it though, the very much better.  At four months you are still pretty much in the initial healing phase, so if you need help, give the doctor you just spoke to permission to speak to your surgeon and describe it colleague to colleague.  I had it happen with a simple yeast infection, two doctors helping me.
