"There are already laws on the books protecting people on discrimination," Metcalfe said. "Every individual is protected against discrimination." Those pursuing a "homosexual agenda" are trying to extend protection to "groups" rather than "individuals," he said.
Stacey Sobel, executive director of Equality Advocates Pennsylvania, said neither federal nor Pennsylvania laws prohibit discrimination based upon sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
