So my doctor told me to start on the 2-3 day of shark week, does it really matter when you start taking T? Can you just take it mid-cycle?

It is working out that way for me right now actually by pure coincidence - I didn't even tell my dr about it, but he did not tell me I needed to wait until the timing was right or anything of that sort.
I asked almost this same question a few days ago on this board, and someone else on here told me they also started during the TOM, and it was actually their last one right off the bat. So, here's hoping that starting in the middle of it is some kind of special magic for getting rid of it right at the beginning. Maybe your Dr has seen some kind of trend?
I dunno what kind of T you are taking either (injection vs cream etc), but he may have his reasons for wanting you to wait. Why not call and ask?

I will be doing injections and I don't have other health issues. I quess it's probably because of the lowest levels of female hormones at that time so T might just be easier on the body ... and maybe a lesser chance of spotting/bleeding like you said. Anyway.. now let's see if I have enough will power to wait two weeks hehe ...

I think this is bogus tbh. Shouldn't make a difference at all. Never heard of anyone being told to do this. Are you on bi-weekly injections? If so then waiting 2 weeks would be just like taking your 2nd shot in 2 weeks. I actually started mine before I was due to start and it delayed it a week. And this month it's been over 40 days and still nothing. I really don't think it makes any difference overall, it starts working straight away.
Anyone else ever been told this? Personally, as soon as I had the vial of T I couldn't get the stuff in me fast enough! Lol

I think (if I remember right) injectable T takes a few days to circulate through your system. Maybe that's why your doctor said that?
